Communication Support Worker Tier 1
Up to 35 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (term time)
£26,489 - £28,269 per annum pro rata


The Curriculum Services Team are passionate about supporting students with Learning Disabilities and/or Difficulties. We are responsible for ensuring that effective and appropriate support provision is allocated to students requiring assistance with accessing their academic studies across City College Norwich, Easton College and Paston College.

You will support students who require BSL, AS support and/or students in PMLD (Profound Multiple Learning Disabilities. This is a great opportunity to work in a highly rewarding role.

Applicants must have a Level 6 qualification in BSL and have or be willing to work towards a Level 3 Certificate in Learning Support (or approved relevant equivalent) .

Communications Develop good working relationships with all relevant areas of press and broadcasting media and external stakeholders. To respond to media enquiries and write proactive press releases, stakeholder briefings and other articles. Assist in publicising the work of the Trust through development ofgood news / promotional opportunities with press and other media,arranging interviews and photo opportunities. Work closely with Care Groups to provide support, advice and helpfor their individual communication activities. Monitor and review media coverage and maintain a media enquiry database. Contribute to the upkeep of the Trusts website and intranet site to provide accurate and timely information for staff, Members and the public. Ensure all communication, which may be complex, contentious orsensitive, is undertaken in a responsive and inclusive manner,focusing on improvement andways to move forward. Ensure all communication is presented appropriately to the different recipients, according to levels of understanding, type ofcommunication being imparted andpossible barriers such aslanguage, culture, understanding or physical or mentalhealthconditions. Maximise use of online media and social media where appropriate. Identify opportunities for positive PR opportunity. Maintain and update the media and external relations forward planning diary. Horizon scan effectively to anticipate difficult issues which could damage the Trusts reputation, or to identify opportunities for positive PR activity. Support the delivery of public information campaigns relating to public healthand other organisational priorities. This will involve developing campaign plans, undertaking stakeholder insight, working with external print and design and writing and editing campaign materials. Maintain photo library and shared drives.Graphic Design1. Create and develop graphic design solutions for the Trust, to include the following corepublications, exploring effective and innovative methods of production:A. Patient informationB. Produce high-quality output across print and digital mediums as specified.3. Coordinating with external design agencies and printers, as necessary.6. The ideal candidate will have digital marketing experience, either in a previous organisation, or experience in managing, maintaining and promoting a digital side-project.
We're looking for someone digitally confident, with a strong writing ability, proven organisational skills and the ability to conceptualise, outline and execute on projects. An analytical mind is key, as well as an active enthusiasm and interest in the digital landscape.

In terms of the day to day, we will expect you to;
- Develop and manage digital marketing campaigns
- Oversee a social media strategy
- Manage and maintain the organisation’s website(s)
- Write and optimise content for the website and social networking accounts such as Facebook and Twitter
- Track and analyse website traffic flow and provide regular internal reports
- Attain key performance indicators such as reducing the website bounce rate, increasing dwell time or improving conversion
- Continually work on the Search Engine Optimization of the website
- Fix any errors or bugs in online content
- Write copy for email marketing campaigns
- Identify new trends in digital marketing, evaluate new technologies and ensure the brand is at the forefront of industry developments, particularly developments in mobile marketing
- Develop and produce licenses and printed material to supplement online products
