Here at Serco, we are looking for a Senior PR & Communications Assistant to promote the work of Serco Leisure and the centres we manage.
As Senior PR & Communications Assistant, you will be supporting our Communications Manager on external communications projects, managing corporate social media on behalf of Serco Leisure including issuing updates on LinkedIn and X, and auditing use of these channels to ensure there is a strategic approach to how we communicate with these distinct audiences.
Your main responsibilities:
- Issuing press releases and follow up communications to maximise media coverage for Serco Leisure and our centres.
- Auditing the success of our PR activities, producing a monthly report to be shared with the Marketing Director.
- Developing our presence on LinkedIn and X by engaging with influencers and organisations relevant to our industry.
- Build relationships with regional/local media, local influencers, and digital community groups.
- Work effectively with the core marketing team to ensure content sharing is maximised across multiple external channels.
- Working with our Regional Social Media Executives to source imagery to accompany press releases and corporate social media updates.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Ideally you will already be working as a Senior PR & Communications Assistant or similar with experience using external social media channels including LinkedIn and X.
- Proven experience with copyediting and proofreading, with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience in leisure/hospitality/retail/events is desirable but not essential.
- Be customer centric, able to discern emerging and driving themes that support customer acquisition.
- Committed to teamwork and collaboration, the ability to work well with colleagues at all levels.
- Ability to drive and access to your own vehicle is essential.
