The News and Entertainment content team is a buzzing news desk which provides the very best celebrity and TV content to our best-selling magazine brands.
The Main Focus of the Role:
We are looking for a Head of Content (News & Entertainment) to run our busy News and Entertainment content team. As Head of Content (News & Entertainment), you will drive these dynamic content teams to create News and Entertainment content for our market-leading Celebrity, Premium and Mass brands: heat, Closer, Grazia, Bella and Yours.
You will be a complete specialist in Celebrity News and Entertainment, and will work with Publishers and Group Editors to implement cohesive content plans across the relevant platforms, to achieve quarterly brand OKR targets. Your knowledge of digital content metrics, will also support to ensure delivery of hitting Apple News+ commitments.
This is a full time role, based in London (Hybrid).
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading an integrated, collaborative News and Entertainment content team, to create the very best celebrity news and entertainment content.
- Accountable for the ideation and delivery of all News and Entertainment content for Bauer UK brands in Mass, Celebrity and Premium titles. Responsible for ensuring the team is creating innovative content that delights audiences, is consistent with Brand USPs, and delivers on print and digital platform quarterly targets. (Includes content strategy for Apple News+)
- Building strong relationships with Brand teams, and creating positive collaboration to support co-planning content across all channels. This includes the provision of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly planning / news lists.
- Line managing a team of section editors and writers, and supporting them with Leadership and Development
- inspiring them to become dynamic news gatherers, be at the forefront of breaking news stories, and utilizing sources, events and all other internal and external ideation opportunities.
- Close collaboration with Picture team and Digital Editors on planning, strategy, and best content opportunities.
- Embracing best-practice workflows, best technologies, and keeping a keen eye on potential efficiencies, and cost savings.
- Supporting Brand teams with commercial propositions, where necessary.
