We are looking for an Account Manager to join our commercial team in Edinburgh for 12 month maternity cover.
You will get to work across a range of independent media agencies, being part of a passionate and experienced team with the opportunity to sell both creative solutions and airtime across our key brands. You will have the opportunity to work autonomously but will be very much part of a team.
You will be responsible for both existing and incremental business through great multi-brand and multi-platform creative solutions. You will have the ability to develop relationships at all levels across both client and agency, and communicate Bauer updates and commercial ideas effectively, while providing exceptional levels of customer service.
This role is a hybrid role, allowing work from home, client meetings and working from a Bauer office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
External:
- Active selling of the Bauer Media commercial proposition
- communicating Bauer’s positioning to your agency group through presentations and meetings
- Driving revenue across your agency portfolio, utilising the knowledge and abilities of the team across your patch
- Developing direct relationships with specified clients; establishing yourself as the face of Bauer Media at the client with the aim of developing a long-standing strategic relationship
- Selling creatively – pitching against other media and proactively selling through creative pitches, supported by insight and research
- Ensuring an in-depth knowledge of your agencies and their approach to business; and of your clients – their challenges, business objectives and current media selection and spend.
- Delivering the best customer service in the industry.
Internal:
- Working alongside the planners in the planning, booking and on-going administration of all radio airtime campaigns.
- Prioritising and managing workloads to maintain a high level of accurate administration across your portfolio of agencies and helping when required
- Preparing weekly forecast figures
- Following up all proposals with excellent negotiation skills to ensure that opportunities are maximised for both the agency and the Bauer portfolio.
- Driving key focus areas and sales initiatives in order to achieve and exceed set targets.
- Developing effective working relationships with the rest of the team and other internal departments to ensure clear and consistent communication.

- A track record and industry reputation for building strong relationships with key agency contacts.
- A strong consultative sales approach, a tenacious manner and the proven ability to close deals.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a good telephone manner.
- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to engage both internal and external audiences.
- A true team-player, but with the ability to work using own initiative with a sense of fun and loads of enthusiasm.
- A positive attitude, showing enthusiasm about media sales and Bauer brands.
- Effective time management skills, with great attention to detail.
- Conscientious – punctual, willing to work hard and go beyond the call of duty with a can-do attitude.
