GO OFFSHORE Pty Ltd (GO), a leading offshore services company, based in South Perth, WA, specialising in providing quality and safe marine and logistics solutions to the offshore energy sector, is experiencing considerable growth within its Australian Fleet. As a result, GO are seeking the engagement of a full time permanent highly experienced and skilled Anchor Handling Master for one of our key contracts.
THE OPPORTUNITY
GO is providing ship management and crewing services to a large, high-capacity Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessel(UT 731 CD design) on a prominent Australian oil and gas project, expected to continue through to mid-2025.Operating out of the port of Broome, the vessel has been engaged to support MODU towing, mooring/unmooring and resupply/drilling operations.
GO are seeking a Vessel Master with extensive experience on this type of vessel and operation in an ongoing capacity to successfully see out the remainder of the contract.
DUTIES
Anchor Handling Masters are required to carry out the following duties:
Vessel Command: Responsible for the safe and efficient command of an offshore anchor handling vessel, including navigation, maneuvering, and dynamic positioning operations in challenging offshore environments.
Anchor Handling Operations: Oversee and execute complex anchor handling operations, including anchor deployment, retrieval, and repositioning for offshore installations, drilling rigs, and other offshore structures.
Crew Management: Lead, supervise, and manage the vessel's crew, ensuring their safety, well-being, and adherence to operational procedures and safety regulations.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure strict compliance with international maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies, conducting regular safety drills and inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
Maintenance and Repairs: Supervise and coordinate routine maintenance and repairs of the vessel's machinery, equipment, and systems, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability.
Communication and Reporting: Maintain clear and effective communication with onshore management, clients, and other stakeholders, providing regular reports on vessel operations, performance, and incidents.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Eligible candidates will be required to possess the following skills, experience and competencies:
STCW Certificate of Competency as Master Foreign Going Unlimited (II/2)
Dynamic Positioning Unlimited (DPO) certification
Minimum 10 years’ experience as a foreign-going offshore Master Mariner
Demonstrated extensive Anchor Handling and tow operations experience onboard a UT 731 AHTS, supported by relevant sea service testimonials
High level people management skills, including the ability to work closely with Senior Onshore Management and Client Representatives to achieve shared operational and contractual targets
In-depth understanding of all flag state (Norway), international, local and Classification Society Rules, laws and regulations, ensuring these are complied with at all times
STCW Ships Security Officer Certificate
GMDSS General Operator Certificate
Current STCW Seafarers Medical
Passport with minimum 12 months validity including unlimited Australian Work Rights
