This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, friendly, and self-motivated individual with extensive safeguarding knowledge to undertake a 12 month secondment in an operational leadership role within the Trust Safeguarding team and to support with the ongoing implementation of the Trust's Safeguarding Strategy.
We are looking for an individual who has sound inter-personal and multi-tasking skills with a comprehensive knowledge of Child and Adult Safeguarding and MCA Legislation and Frameworks. The individual will be required to work flexibly within a small team in a busy and at times challenging working environment.
We are looking for an experienced practitioner with extensive post qualifying experience including working within a safeguarding specialist role. A degree is essential with evidence of further study relevant to the Safeguarding Children and Adults agenda.
The post offers a high level of job satisfaction with the opportunity to gain leadership experience with support from the Named Nurses. The post also offers a breadth of experience in an acute hospital environment including multi-disciplinary working, multi-agency working, audit, training and Safeguarding policy development.
The successful candidate will need to be dynamic, patient centred, self-motivated and flexible, leading and working collaboratively within the Trust Safeguarding Team to deliver the Safeguarding Children and Adults and MCA Agenda across the Trust. An ability to work autonomously and work to deadlines is essential as is having excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
If you have proven experience of working within the Safeguarding Children and Adults arena we would very much like to hear from you. In addition to the skills above you will need to be compassionate and caring, enjoy working with people and want to make a difference to the care of both Children and Adults at risk within an acute environment.
