Job Title: Banksman
Location: Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth
Shift Pattern: 4 days on / 4 days off
Working Hours: 06:00 - 18:00
Pay Rate: £13.76 per hour

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and diligent Banksman to join our Facilities Management team at Queen Alexandra Hospital. This role involves supporting the safe and efficient operation of the hospital's receipt and distribution areas. As a Banksman, you will assist in ensuring the secure and organised management of vehicles, deliveries, and traffic flow, contributing to a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities:

• Vehicle & Traffic Management:

• Direct vehicles safely within the receipt and distribution department, always maintaining visibility to drivers.
• Keep traffic zones clear of pedestrians, using signs and barriers to manage flow.
• Operate pallet trucks and compactors in line with protocols

• Accept and manage deliveries, assisting with stock movement as directed.

• Keep the Service Yard clean and organised, managing litter and debris.
• Conduct daily cleaning of public areas as needed.

• Ensure waste is disposed of safely according to NHS policies
• Report any accidents, near misses, or equipment faults to the Team Leader.
• Manage stocks of cleaning supplies, requesting replacements as needed.

• Maintain confidentiality at all times and comply with NHS Portsmouth and department policies.

Requirements

• Previous experience is essential
• Basic DBS check required.
• Driver's license required.

Our Cleaning Team undertake a comprehensive cleaning regime at our customers premises including bakery equipment, ovens, restaurant areas and associated facility structures.

As the Supervisor of this team, you will oversee and co-ordinate all deep cleaning activities at our clients sites.

The roles involves supervising and working alongside cleaning staff, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards and maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene. You will also liaise with the sites managers and Wanzl office ensuring correct levels of inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.

Hours of work 4 x 10 hours shifts per week

What we need from you:

• You'll need to live within Bournemouth , Worthing , Southampton, Portsmouth, Poole
• Have experience of supervising a small team.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliability and punctuality.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including occasional weekends and overnight stays away.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and communication purposes.
• A valid driver's license is essential.

This is a permanent role £25,800 plus over night costs if you needed to travel
