General Assistant required for the Catering department, RMH Chelsea for kitchen prep, potwash and stores area.
Full time position, 37.5 hours per week , 5 days out of 7.
Experience in similar environment preferred.
The key roles preparation of raw and cooked food, picking and packing of cook chill food, sandwiches and salad items for patients and restaurant. To undertake cleaning duties which are appropriate with the post and to assist the kitchen team with the patient, and staff meal service.

• The preparation of vegetables, sandwiches, cold desserts and salad items for both Restaurant and Patient Services as directed by the Chef in charge of the shift.
• Picking and Packing of cook chill food for patients.
• Ensure that all food storage, preparation and service of all foods meet the temperature guidelines stipulated in the Food Safety (Temperature Control) Act 1995 and to record all food temperatures.
• Assist in daily cleaning of all kitchen areas to maintain a high standard of hygiene as and when appropriate within the departmental cleaning schedules.
• Ensure all relevant equipment has been turned "on" prior to service and switched "off" once used.
• Assist the chef de parties with the preparation, cooking and service of patient and staff meals.
• Ensure as directed by the chef in charge that all relevant food items and accompaniments are made available to patients and staff prior to service.
