Duties of the Post:
The duties of the post, some of which will require physical effort such as standing for long periods, walking distances, climbing stairs, bending, stretching and lifting, pushing and pulling, using cleaning and maintenance equipment and driving university transport, will include the following:
1. The cleaning and preparation of various areas in the academic and associated buildings, including theatre spaces.
2. Complying with the requirements of Data Protection by ensuring confidentiality when dealing with staff or keeping records.
3. Refuse and recycling collection and cleaning of external areas.
4. Drive University owned vehicles when required.
5. Fault reporting.
6. Attend training programmes relevant to the role.
7. Coordinate the work of the cleaning team.
When deputising for the Manager the duties will include, but are not limited to:
8. Undertake quality control inspections, including those for health and safety checks, repairs and maintenance, and equipment safety and report findings to Specialist/Team Clean Manager.
9. Co-ordinate the work of the cleaning ream. This will include arranging cover in the event of absence and annual leave.

11. Proactively feed innovative ideas into the Team Clean Manager to progress the operational service and improve customer service.
12. Have a positive and co-operative relationship with all colleagues, customers and visitors.
13. Flexibility in relation to university key events, such as, Visit Days, Graduation and Christmas rubbish collection.
14. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Head of Soft FM Services or their nominee.

We are looking to recruit Band 5, registered nurses to join our expanding temporary staff bank service to support our Inpatient teams in the following areas:

Alistair Farquharson Centre, Thurrock Hospital
Brentwood Community Hospital
Mayflower Community Hospital, Billericay
Foxglove Ward, King Georges Hospital
Grays Court Ward 1&3, Dagenham Hospital
Heronwood and Galleon, Wanstead Hospital
Ainslie rehabilitation unit, Chingford

You will be involved in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care and must have recent clinical experience, ideally in a community or community hospital setting. You will need to be a reliable, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.



Main duties include but are not limited to:

1. To be responsible for organising and prioritising own and others workload in the day to day allocation of work.

2. To deputise when required in the team managers absence and delegate appropriately to health care assistants.

3. To have organisational knowledge relating to Trust protocols and procedures and adhere to them, particularly administration of medicine and moving and handling.

4. To be responsible for providing accurate records of information required by the Trust for audit purposes.

5. To ensure effective risk management at team level by accident/incident reporting, assessing and controlling risk and ensuring residual risks are added to the Trust register.

Job descriptionIndustrial – Waste Plant cleanerTo control the quality of incoming loads, making sure they tip in a safe manner in the relevant bays and report any issues relating to contamination.To remove as many unwanted materials as possible from the raw stock prior to its introduction to the Plant and make sure the yard is kept clean and tidy.Be responsible for controlling the movement of lorries within the yard maintaining a safe area at all times.Ensure all relevant SOP’s and SWP’s are adhered to at all times.Ensure the quality of raw stock piles are kept at optimum levels.Ensure that the quality of the processed material is maintained from its storage in the bay until being loaded and leaving site.Ensure the yard and weighbridge areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.Deal with weighbridge issues & queries as and when required.Be responsible for inspecting all incoming loads prior to, during and after tipping.Report any issues with incoming loads to the relevant personnel and complete any required paperwork.Report any other issues that may come to your attention in the yard area such as H&S, quality, engineering and damages etc, completing any T Cards or other paperwork that may be required.Monitor all site waste skips on an ongoing basis and report any issues or exchanges required.Remove colour, ceramics, metals, pyro-ceramics, paper, plastics and any other contaminants from raw stock deliveries.
