Job Advert

Our General Managers are our leaders who support and develop our enthusiastic teams of dog caring professionals. The GM is at the
heart of delivering an exceptional experience for both dogs and their human pawrents (our customers)

As the General Manager you will oversee the operations of multiple day care centres, like a regional manager. This involves a
relentless focus on customer service, dog socialisation activities (we call this our enrichment program), learning and
development, health and safety and all the commercial aspects of running 2 - 5 centres.

In addition to the day-to-day, you will also be involved in launching new centres, supporting various projects and critical in
procuring local trade contractors to support your centres.

As well as dogs, people are critically important to our business and you must be able to manage teams of dog enthusiasts across
multiple locations. You will provide great development channels for them in coordination with our Learning & Development team and
also be able to deal with all aspects of HR.

Tying all this together is the Health and Safety know-how you must possess; ensuring the centre is compliant, risks are sighted
and mitigated and licensing regulations are strictly adhered to.

Above all else, you love dogs and can work with them in all seasons; cold, hot, icey, muddy wet and bone dry! And it is very
important you understand that our business is somewhat agricultural… think less air conditioned office and more fields with
natural air where you will get a little muddy!

Responsibilities

* Deliver an unrelenting focus on our values - caring, passionate, positive and reliable - throughout your operations

* Coordinate and oversee daily operations at each centre specifically focussing on dog enrichment, team morale and continual
development

* Manage, oversee and mentor our teams to deliver exceptional standards of dog and customer care

* Manage the daily operational challenges of two flagship centres

* Project management for capex projects up to £100k as well as budgeting including a good understanding of P&Ls

* Own the commercials for each centre

* Weekly and monthly reporting to the Senior Leadership Team

* Support marketing in gaining new customers

* Work tirelessly on retaining your existing customers

* Coordinate logistics of doggy buses, people and dogs across the centres

* Manage and mentoring of support, drivers, carers and grooming team

* HR responsibilities and onboarding of employees as well as to oversee the recruitment procedure and have the final say on key
hiring decisions

* Manager monthly payroll submissions

* Managing and overseeing labour costs

* Mobilisation and running of open days

Ideal Candidate

* An uncompromising love for dogs!

* Experience managing people across multiple sites and delegating tasks

* Ability to build great rapport with teams across multiple locations

* Experience in licensing of some sort

* Proven experience as an Operations or General Manager

* Good at problem solving and decision maker.

* Strong time management and able to work to targets and set goals

* Proven ability to successfully manage internal and external stakeholders

* Flexibility to attend multiple centres at short notice and work across a seven day week at short notice

* Flexibility to travel and sometimes staying overnight in hotel accommodation

* Experience in planning, budgeting and executing centre development projects

* Proficient IT user (the significance of IT in our business is not to be underestimated)

* Excellent communication skills on a variety of levels
