An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trust Wide Safeguarding Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children to join our dynamic and forward thinking Safeguarding & Vulnerable People Team.

The post holder will work with the Lead for the 0 - 18 Years Safeguarding Service to lead the development of Think Family practice across the Trust.

The post holder will provide a crucial link between staff and services, the Safeguarding and Vulnerable People Team and external agencies eg Police and Social Care and act as a safeguarding role model to staff by the delivery of high quality advice and support in individual cases.

The post holder will ensure links with a variety of outside agencies and attend multi-agency meetings internal and external to the trust.
• Actively participate and lead on quality assurance processes, audits and report writing in accordance with the safeguarding agenda.
• Assess risk in particular cases and advise clinicians and other teams / professionals with regard to safeguarding and domestic violence issues.
• Ensure that The Trust meets its statutory obligation to safeguard and promote the welfare of all unborn, children and young people and vulnerable adults.
• Contribute to development of Child Safeguarding and Learning Reviews and Domestic Homicide Reviews

The General Surgery Department at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton has a exciting opportunity for an LED F2 or Junior Clinical Fellow (CT equivalent) in General & Vascular Surgery to join the department for 4 months from December 2024 and 3 months from January 2025.

The General Surgery Department is very busy with high throughput of both elective and emergency patients. Successful candidates can gain experience in UGI and/or vascular surgery, will be expected to support the team with ward rounds, as well as gaining experience in theatre and be part of the General Surgery F2/CT emergency rota.. Whilst it is not a recognised training post, this post is well supervised and there are opportunities to learn and develop skills.

Based at the Royal Derby Hospital the department provides a full range of inpatient elective & non-elective operating services, outpatient clinics & day case sessions.

Applicants should have completed foundation training and ideally have experience of working in breast surgery. Possession of the MBBS, plus full GMC registration with Licence to Practice at the time of application is essential.

The elective work involves daily ward rounds, time-tabled sessions for day case, theatre and outpatient clinics. Whilst it is not a recognised training post, this post is well supervised and there are opportunities to learn and develop skills.

We are looking for a dynamic and flexible person to Join our happy team in Soho, Central London We would love you to have the following skills and experience Clinical practice To Assess, implement and evaluate treatment programmes that promote health and well-being, including individual treatment plans for patients requiring longer term treatments such as wound care, asthma, COPD, diabetes and hypertension, cardiovascular disease, mental health To work with other healthcare professionals in monitoring and managing long term conditions, in line with national and local policies and practice needs Review medication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patient needs and in accordance with evidence-based practice Work with patients in order to support adherence to prescribed treatments; medication reviews Provide information and advice on prescribed and/or over-the-counter medication on medication regimens, possible side-effects and interactions Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote patients to live healthily, and apply principles of self-care; such as promoting exercise, improving diet and stopping risk taking activities such as smoking and excess alcohol intake Support and manage health needs of women presenting for family planning and cervical cytology consultations Recognise, assess and possibly refer patients presenting with mental health needs in accordance with the NSF for Mental Health Implement and participate in vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults and children Meet the needs of patients presenting for opportunistic wound care Other Practice Nurse duties as required by the Practice Ensure clinical practice is safe and effective and remains within boundaries of competence, and to acknowledge limitations. As a non-medical prescriber, you will follow the protocols set by the prescribing lead General Nursing Duties include: Dietary advice Blood pressure checks Urinalysis Health screening (NHS Health Checks) Dressings ECG Phlebotomy Routine injections Contraception, (Pill Checks) Minor injuries Routine immunisations and vaccinations Removal of sutures / clips Baby immunisations Health surveillance / general health advice Provide general and specific health screenings to the practice patients (within agreed protocols) with referral to other members of the primary and secondary health care team as necessary Chronic Disease Clinics (Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, Cardiovascular) New patient health checks Ensuring Infection Control measures are applied If you think that this is a position that you would like to fill, or would like some more information, then please dont hesitate to get in contact and tell us about yourself We are very much looking forward to hear from you
