YOUR TALENT

•     Bachelor Degree or above in logistics or related field;

•     5-8 years' experiences, including at least 2 years’ experience in a Managerial position;

•     Strong knowledge of global and regional logistics operations and industry.

•     Proficiency in determining logistics requirements to enable company's business goals and objectives with ability to devise and implement strategy to achieve targets.

•     Strong and convincing communication skills; Excellent English skills, both written and spoken.

•     Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Power BI) and e-mail skills required.

What will you be doing?

• Assisting with planning and monitoring of approximately 1000 vehicles movements per week
  
• Check and log details of site licences, haulier licences, insurances.
  
• Control of Administration of WIMS/ELEMOS (weighbridge system) for Veolia Waste Depots
  
• Assist with coordinating the Wood & Fuel Team operation to ensure all areas of compliance, operations and customer service are adhered to
  
• Engage with other internal departments to ensure operational delivery e.g. Admin, Customer service, Collections, Comm's/Marketing.
  
• Assisting in coordination and direction of weekly/monthly/yearly quotas
  
• Support with projects to review future business needs and how best to react to legislative changes.
  

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience within a similar role such as transport planning / scheduling preferred but not essential as full training will be provided

• Ability to work on your own initiative and manage your own workload as this role is going to be remote working

About this job

The Logistics Operations Analyst will support all processes and functions of load planning and freight movement.  The Analyst will process and plan shipments and optimize the Logistics network using Oracle Transportation Manager System (OTM).  This role will also review Logistics network data, and work with the Sr. Analyst and Manager to build processes to manage data more effectively and respond to internal and external customer inquiries.  The Analyst will also provide visibility to management and the customer by tracking, conducting process over-sight, auditing, researching and troubleshooting operational issues or functions. The Analyst will communicate effectively with internal and external customers, both written and verbal.  This person will collaborate with cross functional teams to provide performance feedback on transportation to Procurement.

What you will do – Essential Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, track, and direct the transportation of vehicles throughout the CarMax network.

• Oversee and coordinate daily review of the Logistics network, identify opportunities and provide Logistics Managers with options of resolution.

• Partner with development team on system recommendations to enhance operational processes.

• Utilize Oracle Transportation Management System (OTM) to maximize loads and support fleet planning.

• Actively learn all functions of Corporate Logistics.

• Partner with Logistics Managers to identify and support business needs.   

• Communicate with team members and customers, locally and across the nation to support delivery execution of all move types.

• High sense of urgency and exception management tracking shipments to ensure all performance indicators are met and customer experience is iconic.

• Other projects and tasks as assigned by the Manager, Transport Operations.

• Respond to requests from the logistics team and field for support and resolution of escalated issues.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred

• 1+ year of Logistics experience, required

• 1+ year of experience working with a Transportation Management System preferred (i.e. Oracle, SAP, etc.)

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in-time sensitive situations in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

• Strong customer focus, ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with cross-functional teams and to communicate effectively with customers.

• Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment , strong organizational skills.

• Team player with flexibility to service operations across the network as needed.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be able to learn and regularly operate various software system across different platforms.

Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the Richmond, VA Home Office.
