PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Ensures company products meet regulatory requirements by supporting all assigned regulatory aspects of product approval and post-marketing compliance. Develops, coordinates, reviews and prepares documentation packages for pharmaceutical regulatory submissions (Primarily US). May act as FDA liaison for assigned projects. Prepares for agency interactions by writing and organizing associated documentation, including letters and briefing packages. Reviews and advises on manufacturing and control changes for marketed products, labels and clinical materials for products in development.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides regulatory assessment and support.
• Evaluates and assesses regulatory impact of proposed product changes.
• Contributes to strategic planning as regulatory representative on interdepartmental pharmaceuticals development teams.
• Provides project team representation and direction in managing information from/to other departments regarding regulatory submissions.
• Support product development teams by interpreting and strategically applying regulations, guidances and available research/information.
• Plans, prepares and submits varied regulatory filings and correspondence to FDA and other appropriate Health Authorities. Keeps to internal and federal timelines and ensures content, quality, accuracy and format of submissions comply with applicable laws, regulations and corporate standards.
• Critically reviews all types of documents for regulatory submission, including product labeling and promotional and advertising material.
• Conducts regulatory intelligence as required for in-licensing candidates and products in development.
• Ensures that all submission documentation, record keeping and reporting remain in compliance with regulatory filings and in accordance with current regulatory requirements.
• Maintains awareness of all current, pertinent regulations, guidelines, policies, procedures and practices. Analyzes changes and updates and advises and provides recommendations to the department and interested personnel as needed.
• Participates in departmental continuous improvement activities. Makes recommendations for process improvements for efficiency and accuracy of drug submissions and other processes.
• Enhances implementation of eCTD system by restructuring document format with new submissions.
• Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.  
• May provide assistance to junior level staff with more complex tasks that require a higher level of understanding of functions.
• May escalate issues to supervisor/manager for resolution, as deemed necessary.
• Mentor other staff as applicable.
• Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
• Assist with various projects as assigned by a direct supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree desirable

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 5 – 8 years’ related experience; or a Master’s degree with 3 years’ experience; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent directly related work experience.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of scientific principles and domestic regulatory requirements is essential, as well as the ability to interpret and strategically apply such knowledge.
• In-depth knowledge of New Drug Applications (NDAs), Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs), Investigational New Drug Applications (INDs), sNDAs/ANDS, CBEs., Annual Reports and PSURs.
• A strong understanding of US drug or biologics guidelines and regulations.
• Previous experience in preparation of RA documents is required.
• Able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Able to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Highly detail-oriented, well organized and driven to meet deadlines and program goals.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make effective and persuasive presentation.
• Good computer skills in Microsoft Office applications.
• Prior experience with eCTD submissions highly preferred.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Reviews, critiques, and corrects all aspects of Water System installations.  Works directly with the manufacturer and vendors to assure installations meet current standards, product improvement, and cost controls. Oversees the Service Departments operations and supports the Director of Technology in interfacing with the manufacturer and vendors to support the product line. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the tactical execution of short- and long-term objectives through the coordination of activities with a direct responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing.

• Supports the Director of Water System Technology and Support in planning with Water System Installation Engineers Project Managers, General Contractors and Vendors as well as in developing, maintaining and manning a product support system for the product line.

• Provide leadership, coaching and development plans for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce; partnering with Human Resources on employee matters.

• Technically proficient in the Water System department and has knowledge of industry practice and business principles.  Has a large range within a department or multiple departments.

• Provides pre-installation review with Water System Installation Engineers, Project Managers, General Contractors, and Vendors, of installation drawings and plans regarding utilities and equipment placement prior to start of work.

• Coordinates any change orders to installation of equipment or loops with Water System Installation Engineers, Project Managers, General Contractors, and Vendors.

• Performs on-site inspections of installations upon completion of work.  Audits installation for compliance with accepted practice and manufacturer's standards as provided.

• Maintains currency of software and configuration control on new and existing installations.

• Maintain document control of installation, repair, and maintenance protocols.

• Develops and monitors quality indicators for installation teams and project managers.

• Maintains a system for overseeing spare parts and specialized tool inventory.

• Assures that all installation and service documentation meet regulatory requirements.

• Provides high level technical support to the Technical Services work group.

• Assists the Director of Technology and Support in developing, executing and communicating overall product information.

• Support the verification and/or validation of technical procedures, computer systems, and equipment as required.

• Supports Fresenius Medical Care installation and training initiatives by cross training on roles and responsibilities, and assuming tasks for those roles as needed.  Assists with training of new installation teams, vendors and project managers.

• Works in a cross functional role to support the Senior Water System Education Manager's efforts to keep training materials current. The incumbent collaborates with cross-divisional team subject matter experts (SME's) to ensure classes reflect current training requirements of all applicable devices.

• Supports the incorporation of policies and procedures developed by Fresenius Medical Care.

• Recommends updates and changes to policies and procedures as appropriate.

• Ensures education of the appropriate personnel regarding the integrity and safety of facility water systems.

• Utilizes expertise and current knowledge regarding new equipment and best practices, to provide recommendations to the Technical Services management regarding the development of new technical training tools and cost saving programs ensuring the training programs contribute to and meet the Group long term and short-term goals and objectives.

• Participates in specific employee satisfaction and recognition programs.

• Generally, manages department budget and day-to-day functions.  Develops budgets, schedules and performance standards.  Exercises supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing.

• Decisions have an extended impact on work processes and outcomes. 

• Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.

• Interacts frequently with internal departments and external customers/vendors; particularly in problem resolution.  Responsible for hiring, coaching and counseling employees, including performance reviews, disciplinary action and terminations.

• 6 - 8 years' related experience in the Dialysis Field or related Water System experience; or a Batcheler's degree with 3 years' experience; or equivalent directly related work experience.
• 3+ years' experience as a Manager preferred.
• A minimum of five (5) years' experience in the Water Treatment Field as a Technician preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership competencies and skills for the position, including excellent communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, results orientation, team building, motivating employees, performance management, and decision making.
• Demonstrated ability to manage one or more departments.
