Assistant Manager / Manager (Legal Technologist)

As a Legal Technologist, you will assist SILE in integrating technology into their work to improve process efficiency and effectiveness. Job Responsibilities

• Supervising a team of library officers to ensure that everyday duties are completed efficiently
• Ensure that the team is continuously updated on developments in the library industry, which include standards for collection development, acquisitions, and cataloging, so they can continually provide library users with the most recent information
• Supervise the day-to-day management of the library's activities, such as loan transactions, acquisitions, and cataloguing
• Managing library materials and carrying out programs and activities
• Perform collection review including gap analysis, data analysis for reporting
• Prepare and analyze reports on a regular basis, such as those on reference inquiries, loan and collection statistics, and library usage.
• Develop recommended library resource listings which includes books, eBooks, journals, magazines, databases, etc
• Create or suggest strategic library initiatives that spotlight the resources and services offered by the library.
• Communicate with vendors to acquire, choose, and deliver print and e-resources
• Responding to concerns, queries, and feedback in accordance with regulations and guidelines
• Maintaining and managing of E-resources to ensure up-to-date and accuracy data
• Process interlibrary loans and updates to ensure accurate inventory data
• Ensuring and maintaining library etiquette and ensure area is clean and organized
• Library management team include overseeing the collections, managing the acquisition of resources, managing the system to ensure data accuracy in the LMS (Library Management System), tracking the movements of library items
• Carry out any additional tasks that could be allocated

Job Requirements

• Min Diploma or equivalent with min 10 years of relevant working experience in managing law library
• A postgraduate qualification in library and information management would be an added advantage
• Tech-savvy with good proficiency in Microsoft Office and technology tools
• Meticulous with details, good communication and interpersonal skills

Working Hours / Location

1. Mondays to Friday: 8.30am to 6.00pm

• Responding to concerns, queries, and feedback in accordance with regulations and guidelines
• To assist and furnish research and reference services to library users upon request
• Maintaining and managing of E-resources to ensure up-to-date and accuracy data
• Process interlibrary loans and updates to ensure accurate inventory data
• Provision of information assistance to meet library users' requirements
• Ensuring and maintaining library etiquette and ensure area is clean and organized
• Performing updates and revisions in the system
• Library management team include overseeing the collections, managing the acquisition of resources, managing the system to ensure data accuracy in the LMS (Library Management System), tracking the movements of library items
• Monitoring and assisting with report compilation, handling unforeseen circumstances, and providing administrative support
• Carry out any additional tasks that could be allocated

Job Requirements

• Min Diploma or equivalent with 3 years of relevant working experience
• Experience working in a law library would be an added advantage
• A certificate in Library and Information Management would be an added advantage
• Tech-savvy with good proficiency in Microsoft Office and technology tools
• Meticulous with details, good communication and interpersonal skills

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing or about to enrol for a Law degree
• Organised and meticulous
• Able to work independently

You will be required to provide the following support lawyers:

• Legal research
• Drafting
• Electronic filing of court documents
• Administrative support
• Working hours: Monday- Friday, 9am- 6pm
• Honorarium will be paid
