THE ROLE:

· Maintain restaurant & venue cleanliness in an efficient, professional manner and contribute to an excellent guest experience. Responsible for cleaning all areas of venue.

Responsibilities:

· Perform table maintenance duties according HOB service standards

· Perform Opening/Running/Closing duties according to HOB Service Standards

· Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a courteous and polite manner

· Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through work area throughout shift

· Keep floor neat, clean and free of food, trash and other obstacles throughout shift

· Clean all spills immediately, use floor signs to caution guests and staff

· Put all trash and recyclable products in proper receptacles

· Clean and stock line to par throughout shift

· Follow housekeeping standards per policy

· Operate trash compactor per procedures policy

· Ensure that trash cans/slim jims are clean, free of odor and lined

· Keep all dust pans clean and free of stuck on debris/odor

· Separate glass, cardboard and plastics per local codes

· Pre-roll and store table paper, per venue specifications

· Keep current on all standard operating procedures

· Stamp table paper with Music Hall advertisement stamp per venue policy

· Turn all lost and found items in to MOD

· Attend pre-shift meeting conducted by MOD prior to start of each shift

· Assist Other Employees as needed

· Cleans and dusts all areas of venue

· Sweep and mop floors

· Cleans and maintains restrooms

· Refills toilet paper, paper towel, sanitary napkin and soap dispense

· Cleans and polishes hardware such as doors, woodwork, door handles, push plates, kick plates, metal handrails, cigarette urns and drinking fountains

· Vacuums and spot clean rugs

· Replaces burned out light bulbs or report same to supervisor

· Maintains service rooms and storage areas in a clean orderly manner

· Maintains adequate supply of cleaning equipment, materials and supplies

· Uses cleaning tools such as mops, brooms, squeegees, cleaning cloths, sponges, pails, brushes, vacuum cleaners, etc.

· Removes waste paper baskets and containers, and empties same into trash containers and cleans area after trash has been picked up

· Reports all repairs required and safety and fire hazards to supervisor

· Observes safety standards and practices

· Additional general cleaning of venue

· Performs related duties as required or assigned within job classification

Qualifications:

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

The Department of Textile Conservation is responsible for preservation, conservation, technical study, research, and installation of the Museum’s collection of approximately 36,000 textiles in twelve curatorial departments, stored primarily in the Antonio Ratti Textile Study and Storage Center. The expansive collection represents a broad range of textiles, including flat textiles, tapestries, carpets, embroideries, costumes, archaeological and three-dimensional fiber art as well as accessories from all periods and cultures.   The Department sets and follows guidelines for documentation, care, handling, display, and storage of the textiles and plays a vital role in The Met’s Integrated Pest Management (IPM). The Department of Textile Conservation at The Metropolitan Museum of Art upholds the highest professional standards in the conservation of the Museum’s collection of textiles.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

You play a vital role in the well-functioning of the department, supporting conservators responsible for textile collections in various curatorial departments.  You will be actively involved in different aspects of conservation work, varying from documentation through conservation treatment to analytical work through the interactions with colleagues working with diverse materials and projects, including a full range of historic and contemporary textiles and costumes. You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills by learning traditional tapestries and carpet weaving/re-weaving techniques, as well as contribute to the development of treatment and display methodology of modern and contemporary textiles, ranging from flat textiles to three-dimensional fiber art along with mixed-media textile art.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Perform condition checks, examination and documentation of textiles using photographic and computer-aided technology within the safe and proper handling of textiles.

• In-depth analysis of materials and weaving techniques including  fiber and weave structure analysis using microscope equipment

• Assist liaison conservators with conservation treatment through discussion, research, analysis and implementation of appropriate methodology based on assigned projects

• Assist with time-sensitive projects and duties as assigned by Conservator-in -Charge

• Participate with installation/de-installation of exhibitions/gallery rotations ranging from assisting liaison conservator(s) or requiring teamwork (e.g., large tapestries and carpet installations/de-installations at various physical heights)

• Assist with preparation and installation of textiles for loans and acquisitions and possible courier travel to accompany and safeguard the art both domestically and internationally

• Contribute to the continual development of preventive conservation techniques leading to the long-term preservation, treatment and storage of organic and particularly synthetic and mix-media materials

• Contribute to the department’s research and publishing on conservation treatments, methodologies, materials and techniques, etc.

• Conduct IPM activities individually and as part of team such as vacuuming, anoxic treatment, freezer treatment

• Document condition reports and treatment proposals

• Work with analytical equipment to conduct fiber identification, weave structure analyses

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Master’s degree from an internationally recognized graduate conservation program.

• 2  years of work experience in textile conservation with some museum experience; a demonstrated capacity for conservation treatment of textiles including modern and contemporary ones

• Manual skills (sewing & machine techniques); attention to detail and ability to complete assigned tasks in an efficient manner in order to maintain the department’s heavy workload and smooth operation

• Communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal)

• Experience with laboratory dyeing techniques of yarns and fabrics

• Experience with the most recent diagnostic techniques such as digital microscopy, multiband imaging, digital documentation with image and drawing software

COMPENSATION RANGE:

• Pay Range : $68,000 - $75,000 / Annually

The Assistant Maintainer will assist the Engineering Maintainers in the operation and maintenance of all types of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, including but not limited to chillers, fans, pumps, air compressors, cooling towers, pneumatic and electronic controls, and the cleaning of machinery spaces. THE JOB

• Safely transport bus tubs weighing up to 40 lbs from table areas to dish room
• Keep all ice bins parred to fullest levels at all times

• Keep floor neat, clean and free of food, trash and other obstacles throughout shift

• Clean all spills immediately, use floor signs to caution guests and staff
• Put all trash and recyclable products in proper receptacles

• Clean and stock line to par throughout shift

• Follow housekeeping standards per policy
• Operate trash compactor per procedures policy
• Ensure that trash cans/slim jims are clean, free of odor and lined
• Keep all dust pans clean and free of stuck on debris/odor
• Separate glass, cardboard and plastics per local codes
• Pre-roll and store table paper, per venue specifications
• Keep current on all standard operating procedures
• Stay informed of current menu items and descriptions
• Follow private party service guidelines to ensure event success
• Turn all lost and found items in to MOD
• Attend pre-shift meeting conducted by MOD prior to start of each shift

• Assist Other Employees as Needed
• Maintain House of Blues safety and sanitation standards

• Greet all guests in store and anticipate, determine and respond to guests’ needs

• Ensure guest safety through proactive personal interaction and removing hazards in the area of responsibility
• Prevent and resolve altercations among guests
• Lead guests and other employees in emergency evacuation procedures and provide assistance

The Role:

THE JOB

• Set Up and Break down of Band and Event Equipment

• 3 years minimum Tour and Stage Production experience

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

•Sell Opera Boxes, bottle service and reserved stools in advance of every show and maintain monthly sales goal.

•Be present at every show to upsell available VIP inventory to concert patrons.

•Serve as a resource of information for VIP clients regarding their experience within the House of Blues venue.

•Provide assistance for VIP clients regarding the timing of their arrival and concert times.

•Give proper recognition to Foundation Members, Live Nation Executives and VIP clients to instill appreciation for their membership and patronage.

•Coordinate operations on night of shows with Ops Director, servers and security. 
•Build strong relationships with Foundation Room members and VIP clients and have the ability to anticipate their needs.

•Give constant observation of Opera Boxes and reserved stools to ensure guests are receiving highly personal service at all times.

•Maintain articulate vocabulary with the ability to adapt and socialize with current audience.

•Maintain exemplary and professional grooming standards.

•Required to occasionally work Special Events that are scheduled throughout the venue

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

Required:

•High School Diploma or equivalent

•Working knowledge of high-end restaurant operations, seating procedures, guest relations, problem solving

•Experience in selling to high-end, VIP clients

•Skill in diplomacy, handling multiple tasks, verbal skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills

•Ability to diffuse possibly volatile situations with tact and diplomacy

•Must have a flexible schedule

•Must be able to work in multi venues Physical Demands/Working Environment:

•Working environment is fast-paced, often loud and stressful

•Position requires extended periods of prolonged standing and working on your feet

•Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques
