SUMMARY:

The HIM Release of Information Specialist under the direction of the Manager of Release of Information will be responsible for coordinating the release of protected health information (PHI) for all RRH Hospitals and it’s Affiliates from multiple storage media, including electronic records, paper records, and legacy systems. The HIM Release of Information Specialist will be responsible for reviewing requests and authorizations to release PHI to ensure completion and accuracy as well as compliance with State and Federal guidelines prior to release. Collaborates with internal and external parties in person, verbally and in writing to meet/exceed customer needs and/or organizational requirements/goals.

ATTRIBUTES

• (5+) years of experience in Health Information Management or other Healthcare setting.
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) Preferred.
• Self-motivated and able to adapt to shifting priorities in support of clinical and business operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyzes an authorization for medical information/PHI to evaluate for HIPAA compliance prior to processing.
• Receives and processes requests for patient health information in accordance with company, state, and federal guidelines.
• Uses extensive knowledge of hospital policy and procedures, and Federal and State laws and regulations to advise and direct other departments such as Risk Management, Ambulatory offices, Compliance, Billing etc. on the process of requests for PHI.

The CT Technologist performs CT imaging and assists radiologists in performing CT Interventional procedures, obtaining images of good diagnostic quality, while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients undergoing these procedures.

ATTRIBUTES

• Two (2) year college degree in Radiologic Technologist in Applied Science or equivalent.

• NYS license in Radiologic Technology (or) must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six (6) months of employment.

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT-R) within six (6) months of employment.

• NYS Injection Certification within six (6) months of employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Patient Care. Responsible for radiography of patients, including CT scans and Interventional CT guided procedures; provide on-call coverage for CT section of Radiology; follow up on patient care issues/needs

• Documentation. Maintain accountability for proper documentation of exams and procedures; document performance of studies in patient charts

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Management & Development. reach tentative diagnosis of medical, surgical and other conditions; develop treatment plans in conjunction with attending physician to provide optimal patient medical management; order consultations and interact with members of other specialty medical teams; assist in the collection of data for research projects
• Patient Satisfaction. Interacts on a frequent, regular and daily basis with patients, family members, medical/social/public services support, regulatory agencies and/or payor agencies. Interaction and communication requires expressed empathy, understanding, problem-solving, education, information gathering, process influencing and counseling.

As an OR Surgical Tech, you are crucial in the efficiency and overall success of operations. You will assist the surgical team by acting as the primary scrub tech who handles the instruments, supplies and equipment during surgical procedures, ensuring sterilization at every point of the process.

ATTRIBUTES

• Completed a military surgical technology program
  -OR-
  Certified Surgical Technologist certification through National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTS) and degree in Surgical Technology required

  Grand-Fathering Clause- Provide evidence he or she was employed as a surgical technologist in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring between 12/31/10 – 12/31/14.
  -OR-
  Hard to Fill Clause-Certified Surgical Technologist certification through National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required within 24 months after employment and degree from accredited program required.
  -OR-
  * Surgical Technologist Certification is not required for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) with current licensure in the State of New York

RESPONSIBILITIES

• CME maintenance. Must maintain at least 15 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME) per year
• Supply check & sterilization. Ensure all supplies, instrumentation and equipment are available and sterilized for surgical procedures and proper operation
• Orientation. Assist in guiding medical/nursing students and technicians to the unit
• Draping & maintenance. Assist with draping procedures and demonstrates vigilance in maintaining overall sterility in the operation room
• Unit development. Help identify goals and objectives of the unit
