Manage the science technician team and ensure it is resourced, organised and developed, in consultation with the Head of Science, to meet the performance standards required by the department.

Oversee the maintenance of laboratories, preparation rooms and chemical stores (including security and accident/hazard spotting) to ensure all Health and Safety Regulations are met. Report where necessary problems to Site Manager and Head of Science.

Take a lead role in the design, development, and maintenance of specialist resources and offer professional guidance, assistance and support to pupils and teachers on the practical aspects of the curriculum.

Set up monitoring systems used in the management and control of practical resources including stock control and financial records.

Take the lead role within the science department on both routine and non-routine checking, cleaning, maintenance, calibration, testing and repairing of equipment to the required standards.

Promote the observance of a safe and healthy working environment and provide advice on health and safety issues to technical staff, teachers and students.

Advise on the development of systems and procedures so that the work of the Science Faculty may be carried out to best effect.

Your new role
Reporting to the IT Service Delivery Manager, you will be working at a secondary school 3 days a week, with the other 2 days spent at the Head Office working with the wider team. Your primary responsibility will be to provide a high level of IT support to pupils and staff at this busy secondary school, ensuring that teaching and learning is enhanced through the provision of proactive IT support. On a daily basis, this will involve responding to helpdesk tickets which could relate to a wide range of issues such as hardware, software, networking or bespoke educational technologies, and you will therefore develop a varied skill set and have the opportunity to learn about new technologies. You will be installing and upgrading new hardware and software, working on the implementation of new technologies and also supporting the delivery of any IT projects required in school. The additional 2 days at head office, you will support the delivery of wide-scale IT projects whilst also responding to helpdesk tickets for additional schools in the local area.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess significant IT support experience working in a hands-on IT support environment, ideally with experience in the education sector, however, this isn't essential. In addition, you will have excellent communication and relationship building skills, as well as the passion and drive to deliver a high level of IT support, ensuring customers are at the forefront of your mind when responding to IT requests. You will be a proactive individual who is able to think outside the box and who is keen to further develop your IT skills and knowledge.

Hours of Work: 37 hours per week Monday to Friday

Grade 4 - £23,500-£23,893 (pay award pending)

We are currently recruiting a Grounds Maintenance operative to complement our existing team. We are looking for somebody who will be committed to providing effective and high level services in a courteous and professional manner.

The role of Grounds Operative involves the completion a range of activities, including but not limited to; Grass Cutting, maintenance of hard standing areas, shrub maintenance, hedge maintenance in residential areas and public open spaces.
• The successful applicant will need to have:
• Experience of operating grounds maintenance equipment and machinery, tractors and ancillary equipment, ride-on mowers, hedge cutters, blowers, strimmer’s
• The ability to work as part of a team
• Customer service, tact and diplomacy skills in order to deal with customers and clients
• Literacy and numeracy skills along with the ability to use technology particularly a smart phone to take photographs, record tasks.
• The successful applicant will hold or be willing to work towards NPTC Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides (PA1 and PA6).
• The role involves driving a 3.5 tonne transit tipper therefore applicants must hold a full UK driving licence.
• Ability to tow a trailer

Grounds Maintenance Operative

Manpower are recruiting on behalf of our national client for engaged candidates to join their grounds maintenance team.

You will be responsible for delivering high quality grounds maintenance services to a range of clients across the local area. This will include mowing, strimming and hedge pruning. You will be required to liaise with customers and report any enquiries or defects on site. As well as accurately completing legible paperwork when required and completing works on the SMS app, providing the required photographs. You will need to ensure a safe working environment is always maintained and carry out day to day maintenance and safety checks on all equipment.

The training offered includes on-the-job training and standard induction for best practice.

This is a 5 month assignment however with an increase of workload there is a possibility of extension.

Trainee Technician who is keen to learn new skills within the engineering / construction testing industry is required to join the company’s Project Team and provide technical and physical support at project sites nationwide.

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Trainee Technician who is keen to learn new skills within the engineering / construction testing industry.

Working as the Trainee Technician you will be highly motivated and committed individual to provide technical and physical support to a small growing project team within the business. The role, which will predominantly be site based, is undertaking projects such as; structural load testing to British Standard or bespoke requirements, environmental monitoring and potentially bespoke structural monitoring installations and maintenance, nationwide. You will be joining a small dynamic and multi-disciplinary team.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Trainee Technician will include:

• Working as part of a small growing team to undertake long and short-term projects

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

• Computer literate with experience in using Microsoft Office Suite / 365 (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) plus be familiar with PDF’s and know how to navigate the Internet

• Great housekeeping abilities, keeping the Sites and the Laboratory workspace clean and tidy

• The ability to work as part of a team, and independently to deliver accurate, compliant completed results and excellent customer service - always

• Ability to work independently and adhere to short strict deadlines

• A full and valid UK Driving Licence Required (6 points or less - no active convictions)

• Strong committed work ethics, with a willingness to learn and help
