Falkirk Council is currently seeking an ambitious and self-motivated individual to take on the role of Assessor/Technician based at Forth Valley Sensory Centre.

If so, this is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to join our experienced, motivated and passionate team. Working in a fast-paced environment you will support service users to achieve and maintain their independence. You will work as part of a team offering Sensory Impairment support within Falkirk and Stirling local authorities, assessing for and installation of environmental aids for people with sensory impairment, you will deliver, demonstration and installation of equipment in relation to sensory impairment and be responsible for repairs and maintenance to previously fitted equipment in service users' home and other locations
The successful candidate will have experience of, or an understanding of the care needs of people with a sensory impairment and the effects of ageing. You will be skilled in assessment and recording. You must have good communication skills, a flexible positive attitude and be able to work as part of a team but also to manage your own workload, use your initiative and work on your own.
Requirements
The post holder is required to hold a recognised Sensory Qualification e.g. Diploma of Higher Education in Sensory Studies or equivalent.
You will be educated to British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 or above.
The post holder will also have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, the drive to ‘make it happen’ in a busy working environment delivering high-quality support across a diverse range of services.
You will have sound communication, planning and organisation skills, and must be able to work to deadlines, ensuring an excellent service to both internal and external clients, key professionals, and stakeholders.
You will have knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office and data protection legislation requirements with highly developed I.T. skills.
You will work 37 hours per week.
