As an FE College Art and Fashion Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students and lecturers in their pursuit of excellence. Your expertise and enthusiasm will contribute to creating an environment where innovation and artistic expression thrive.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and assistance to students and lecturers in art and fashion-related programs.
Maintain and organize art and fashion workshops, studios, and equipment, ensuring a safe and creative environment.
Prepare materials, tools, and resources for practical sessions, ensuring they are readily available and in good condition.
Offer guidance and instruction to students in the proper use of equipment, techniques, and materials.
Assist in the installation and preparation of exhibitions and showcases.
Collaborate with lecturers to develop and deliver practical demonstrations and workshops.
Keep up-to-date with current trends and industry practices in art and fashion.
Requirements:
Experience in working with art and fashion materials, tools, and techniques.
Strong knowledge of different art forms and fashion design principles.
Experience in working with young people in a College environment
Proficiency in using and maintaining various equipment, such as sewing machines, screen printing kit, laser cutters 3D printers and digital design software.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, lecturers, and colleagues.
A commitment to promoting health and safety in the art and fashion environment.
