What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to recruit a Food and Textiles Technician to join our hardworking and collaborative team, whose key role will be to ensure our students continue to achieve high quality practical outcomes in Design & Technology. If you have practical experience working in food preparation and textiles and are looking to flourish at work and be professionally fulfilled, we would love to hear from you.
Your opportunity
As a key member of the Design Technology team and working closely with teaching staff and Technician colleagues, the Food and Textiles Technician will provide high-quality practical support to all students throughout their educational journey (KS3 - KS5). The successful candidate will provide support to the department, preparing equipment and resources for practical lessons, assist with in-class support and maintain sufficient stock levels of department materials and resources. The Food and Textiles Technician will also be responsible for maintaining equipment and resources within the department, as well as creating high quality and engaging displays.
What we are looking for
• Someone with experience in food preparation and textiles, preferably in a school environment
• A clear and effective communicator who is able to work flexible
• An organised individual who is willing to take initiative and work autonomously
• Commitment to the aims and ethos of the school
• Someone who enjoys sharing their knowledge of nutrition, food and textiles and working with young people
• A team player with a sense of humour

Start Date: 1 September 2024
Salary: GLF Associate 2, £21,544
Actual Salary: £18,534
Hours of work: 36 hours per week, term time only
