The ROLE
Our Client is recruiting for a Trainee Blow-Moulding machine setter to their well established team in the Corby facility from where they manufacture injection moulded containers. Their commitment to developing their staff is demonstrated by that the right candidate will undergo a structured 12/16 week training course before joining the shopfloor on a continental shift basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for;
* Assume responsibility for the performance of production equipment
* Job change machines
* Tool change machines
* Maximise run time of allocated production lines
* Effectively set the machines to minimise material wastage

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to Join our team to work in the Newbury and Reading area.This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact and you will be actively helping to reduce pollutions from our sites.As the successful candidate. you will also be working in a multi-discipline team and will be responsible for carrying- out scheduled, unscheduled and emergency maintenance work on mechanical and electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures to minimise plant breakdown.

What you’ll be doing as the Mechanical & Electrical Technician

- Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process.
- This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents.
- You will be expected to provide technical advice, referring to up-to-date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required.
- Examples of equipment that you will be working on will be motors, gearboxes, screw /chain conveyors & centrifuges, various pumps, and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as VSD, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, chemical handling, and dosing equipment.
- Participate in a stand-by rota following the relevant training.

Base Location: Newbury SPS – RG14 2AD.

Working Pattern or hours: 38 Hours Monday-Friday 7:30- 15:36

Plus the Possible inclusion onto a standby rota for which you will receive additional payment.All PPE, Tools plus the provision of a Van are provided with this role.

What should you bring to the role?

- You should be a time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems working in a “true multi-skilled” capacity. Previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship, ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering with an upskill qualification in mechanical NVQ2/3 is crucial.
- Have successfully completed 18th Edition Wiring Regulations course.
- Ideally you will have been upskilled with a mechanical qualification to allow inspecting, maintaining, fault diagnosing, testing, installing, modifying or repairing mechanical and electrical plant equipment safely and efficiently.
- For individuals with mechanical or electrical experience only, we will look to develop the right people to dual skilled status.
- Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are crucial.
- The work will require physical fitness; as you will work in restricted spaces with successful completion of the appropriate training.
- A valid driving licence is essential and all necessary equipment such as vehicles and tools are provided.

Arcus FM are looking for a Water Leak Technician, on a permanent basis, to carry out water leak solutions on refrigeration equipment in all clients stores around Newbury!

• Salary: £28,972 per annum
• Van (with option for personal use from day 1) and fuel card

• Up to 4% discretionary bonus scheme, subject to achievement of targets.
• 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays

You will be responsible for carrying out work to clear all condensate drains, repair broken pipework, put a fall onto the required pipework, use the puricators to clean and protect the internal pipework and inserting pipe couplings for easy pipe access. Pump trays will need to be maintained and cleaned, with parts replaced as required.

You'll ensure that jobs are completed within SLA, all relevant KPI's are met and that all Arcus health & Safety procedures are complied with at all times. You'll also comply and adhere to all clients site requirements whilst working at a store, including following the correct signing in and out procedures in the store and adhering to the permit to work process.

You'll need to keep track of aged work orders and ensure that they are prioritised for completion.

To be sucessful in this role, you will need:

• Experience of water leak or drainage works would be an advantage
• Experience in basic electrical repairs also an advantage
• Other industry qualifications and certifications
  
• A UK Driving Licence is required due to the nature of the role

• The post holder must be able to work flexibly as required by business needs and will require a full UK/EU driver's license
