We need a dedicated Electrician based at Royal Preston Hospital to join our team to help keep our hospital environment safe, operational, and supporting the health and wellbeing of our patients, staff and visitors – day in day out. No mean feat! We really mean it when we say no two days are the same – it is a blend of planned maintenance coupled with emergency repairs and everything in between.

You will also work across some of our other hospitals sites too, so whilst primarily based at Royal Preston Hospital you will get out there to other sites at Chorley Hospital, Preston Business Centre and beyond.

This role will involve a 7-week rotating shifts, that will involve Days, Evenings, Nights and Weekends.

Essential Criteria for Senior Control, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer:

• Someone with a degree in an Electrical Engineering discipline or closely related subject together with a good level of design office experience.
• Someone with a good knowledge and experience in following an accredited design / engineering process to deliver an assured design / system that meets all required statutory site and national safety standards.
• Someone with the ability to work well within a design environment and other engineering disciplines.
• Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years' worth of UK residency).

Desirable Criteria for Senior Control, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer:

• A Chartered or Incorporated Engineer, or someone working towards professional registration, although equivalent experience will be taken into consideration.
• A working knowledge of the requirements of PUWER and UKCA marking.
• Experience of the nuclear sector.
• Knowledge of Sellafield Standards.

Communication Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals and members of the pharmacy team regarding the provision safe use of medicines. This will include legislation and professional guidelines and reporting of audit findings. Responsible for the cascading of relevant medicines governance, Formulary and Medicines safety information across the Trust. Communicates in a professional and timely manner. Maintains confidentiality at all times and communicates in line with relevant legislation, policies and procedures. Runs and coordinates the Medicines Safety Champions group. Service Planning and Delivery Responsible for planning and organisation of medicines safety, PGD and unlicensed medicines audits. Undertakes Trend analysis of Medication safety incidents on Datix. Learning and Development Participates in education and training of all staff in relation to safe medicines usage, CDs, PGDs and Unlicensed and over labelled medicines Maintain and develop own professional competence and seek to extend the scope of personal knowledge and skills within scope of role and professional practice, policies and legislation. Quality and Governance To record department activity, ensuring departmental and Trust KPI targets are met. Develop, review and maintain Standard Operating Procedures. Contribute to the formal handling and investigating of complaints, error reports, accident/incident reports and monitor for preventative and/or corrective action and improvement Proactively manage risk and maintain safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines. Service Improvement To ensure safe and effective medicines storage is designed, delivered and evaluated to meet service needs and to inform future practice. To continually look for ways to improve services and patient safety within the Trust. Alert managers to resource issues which affect service delivery and safety. To contribute to pharmacy business planning process Contributes to review and management of Medicines risk register entries. Updates Pharmacy Intranet pages. Financial Management To contribute to, implement and champion pharmacy PET initiatives.

Maintenance Handyperson - Permanent Role - Preston and Blackpool areas

• £14.75ph - wages paid weekly

Main Purpose of role:

Principally working in the Preston and Blackpool areas, performing planned and reactive maintenance duties including - basic plumbing, straightforward carpentry, fixing doors and windows, basic electrical (wiring a plug/changing a light bulb), fitting new locks and door handles and other straightforward maintenance and repair work.

Essential Candidate Requirements:

• A full UK driving licence -THIS IS ESSENTIAL
• Good Experience of planned maintenance and reactive repair work
• Experience in straightforward joinery and carpentry ESSENTIAL
• Willingness to work in a mobile role within the Preston and Blackpool area
