You will provide guidance to others on site, showing technical expertise, particularly in electrical systems, to ensure appropriate and compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery. As part of this role, you will be required to work 40 hours per week 8am – 5.00pm.

The salary is £34,700 plus generous amount of on call monitories takes wage up to 40k plus any overtime.

Key Responsibilities:

- Diagnose, fault-find, commission systems, monitor and assess ongoing machine/facility performance, through Planned Preventive Maintenance programme, identifying any additional works required.
- Assist in installing, commissioning, and servicing plant, equipment and industrial furniture.
- The multiskilled duties will include working with Water, AHUs, Electrical work with AP, Generators and work in Plantroom Environments.
- Carry out and assist in planned/reactive maintenance to on site systems.
- Help ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up to date knowledge of H&S and environmental regulations and helping us to achieve our H&S target.
- Flexible working hours required which may include shifts and overtime working by arrangement.
- Participate in the on-call rota.

Person Specification:

- Must have completed an electrical apprenticeship with relevant qualifications.
- Experience in Facilities management and general electrical maintenance.
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
- City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition Wiring regulations. Will look at 17th edition with opportunity to upskill to 18th edition.
- City & Guilds 2392 – Inspection & Testing or equivalent. (Desirable)
- Valid UK driving license (Essential due to on call needs)
- Candidate must be able to maintain, service and repair a wide range of the building services, including; Working with Lighting and Small Power, Low Voltage Electrical Distribution System and Switchgear, Emergency Standby Generators, Fire Alarm Systems, General and Emergency Lighting, Building Management Systems, LTHW Heating Boilers and Pumps, Domestic H&C Water Systems.

Senior NPD Technologist (MEAT)

About the Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Product Development Technologist to join the NPD team at James Hall & Co. Ltd,
Preston. The role is perfect for someone looking to develop their experience in meat-based NPD. Working as part of a busy NPD
department, the successful candidate will support in the delivery of new and existing product development of our portfolio of
cooked meats, bacon & raw meat.



Here’s What You Can Expect to be Doing

The responsibilities of this role involve supporting the product development process from concept to launch, ensuring all tasks
are carried out in compliance with SPAR & James Hall policies and industry standards. This includes coordinating various stages of
development, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of new products.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Supporting the NPD manager and team in developing new products in line with SPAR & James Hall policies.
* Organising, running, and documenting benchmarking exercises.
* Liaising with suppliers for new raw materials and packaging.
* Evaluating raw materials in line with legislation to ensure safe product launches.
* Leading and documenting factory trials.
* Organising and overseeing controlled taste panels.
* Completing NPD documentation and Gate process documents.
* Testing and validating products throughout development.
* Checking and approving artwork proofs.
* Supporting Production, Technical, and Trading departments for smooth product launches.
* Conducting meetings with relevant stakeholders.



A Few Things About You

* Demonstrable experience in an NPD or Technical department or meat-based Production department.
* A degree in Food, Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field is preferred.
* Strong understanding of food legislation.
* Knowledge of microbiological issues and ability to interpret laboratory results.
* Excellent planning, organisation, and documentation skills.
* Flexibility to accommodate trial work when necessary.
* Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.
* Keen attention to detail, with strong grammar and spelling skills.
* Clear communication skills and ability to engage with staff at all levels.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
