Responsibilities


- Perform scheduled maintenance and corrective maintenance works (including HV maintenance) for solar plants to ensure the successful ongoing operation of the plants.

We are currently recruiting for Repair Technicians (TVs or Laptop technicians) for Curry's Warehouse based in Long Hollow Way, Coddington, Newark NG24 2NH

You will be working at one of the leading repair centres in Europe while repairing high end customer products for the largest high street retailer in the country and one of the biggest brands in the world, you will be a confident colleague
You will be providing a high quality service to our Currys customers standards.
As a Repair Technician you will be covering a range of products and you will be expected to be passionate about the role, work to strict guidelines, hit KPI's set by Currys, have a proactive attitude, work well within a team and be able to flex your workflow as needed.

Details:

• Salary: Currently £13.58/hr Days, overtime paid from £20.37/hr after 6 weeks
• Working hours: 4 on 4 off, day shift, hours can differ based on Department you will be working in
• Immediate starts

• This is a full time role and no part time shifts are available

Role of a Repair Technician:

• Be able to work in a fast-paced dynamic target driven environment.
• To adhere to targets and a predetermined quality standard to all repairs.
• Responding to individual customer's needs and requirements.
• Keep up to date with regular training and standards.
• Ascertain the warranty status of a product to eliminate damaged products.
• Understand repair timeframes and cut off for each different model.
• Repair to manufacturer guidelines.
• Be adaptable and able to work on a range of products.
• Ensure positive and proactive communication with the customer to meet their needs.

Required Skills & Experience: What knowledge, skills and ability are needed for this role?

• The ability to work well on an individual level as well as part of a team.
• Meeting set KPI's to ensure the best standards and productivity.
• To deliver a world class customer service through customer repairs
• Minimise Turn-Around Time, PPJ and Repeats, to ensure a fast and reliable service to customers.
• Working within a team to improve Dixons Carphone NPS.
• Maximise repair efficiency to control repair costs.

Qualifications needed: What technical/professional qualifications are needed for this role?

• Excellent awareness of Health and Safety, 5S and Electrical Safety
• GCSE English and Maths or equivalent / higher qualification
• To show an interest in self-study and different brands
• Great communication Skills to be able to communicate with the team and customers.
• History of repair and competence
• iOS knowledge

Desirable:

• To be ACMT/ACIT accredited (Training provided)
• Knowledge of repair on variety of products
• Impeccable knowledge of diagnosis and disassembly

This role will be to work in our quarries supporting those in the East Midlands area. This role is commutable from Nottingham, Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Heanor, Derby, Alfreton, South Normanton, Ravenshead, Newark-on-Trent, Bingham, Kirkby in Ashfield, Matlock, Belper, Chesterfield, Worksop, Sheffield, Grantham, Loughborough and the surrounding areas.

The role is a DAYS role so you will be required to work Monday - Friday; with overtime available to meet with our site’s needs.

ESSENTIAL – you will need to hold a FULL UK manual car driving license with no more that 6 penalty points

Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the Quarry Manager, as our Area Mechanical Maintenance Fitter you will be responsible for undertaking plant maintenance, repairs and improvements to ensure maximum reliability of all plant associated areas and to assist team members in all aspects of plant operations.

Your responsibilities as the Area Mechanical Maintenance Fitter will include:

• Respond to plant breakdowns, when necessary and be responsible for the correct and efficient repair of equipment keeping downtime to a minimum with timely and safe adherence to the maintenance plan whilst complying to all relevant statutory legislation and the internal company Safety, Health and Environmental standards
• Continue to improve plant performance whilst maintaining safety, maintenance and asset reliability
• Contribute to the in-house development of the Computer Maintenance Management System
• In support of the maintenance and operations functions, you will utilise documents, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated guidelines for the safe and efficient maintenance of equipment

The Ideal Candidate

The role of Area Mechanical Maintenance Fitter is a varied, complex and rewarding position that requires:

• Level 3 Apprentice trained or ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering would prove highly beneficial although not essential as QBE (Qualified by Experience) is essential in this role
• Experience working in the Quarrying industry would prove a distinct advantage
• Have experience of TPM methodology and Continuous Improvement
• Working knowledge of relevant engineering maintenance principles and practices, and experience of working in a relevant heavy engineering industry
• Knowledgeable in the area of Predictive Maintenance
• Experience in working with a Computer Maintenance Management System
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode & Effect Analysis tools/techniques
• Understands database systems as relevant to planned maintenance and logging of shift activities
• An understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics and pneumatics and understand National and International codes and symbols used on drawings and specifications
