As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR - TITLE 32, WS-5801-10, you will plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor. Coordinate work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors. Determine the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects. Based out of the Glasgow Depot and reporting to the Service Delivery Engineer, the Technical Support Engineer will work with the Production, Technical and Performance teams supporting with the maintenance and reliability improvement of the fleet.

Principal Accountabilities

• Provide technical support for the maintenance team on site and at incidents off depot.
• With minimal supervision investigate rolling stock casualties undertake maintenance and repair of the allocated rolling stock to meet the requirements of the production plan.
• Regularly monitor train defects and failures in traffic and liaise with the customer.
• Mitigating the risk of in service failures through proactive intervention.
• Download and process train diagnostic data, undertake fault finding to an advanced level.

• Understands and cares for tools, equipment and PPE as appropriate
• Knowledge of Health & Safety including bio-hazards, manual handling and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
• Ability to fault-find using a number of different methods including diagnostic software
• Ability to understand and interpret relevant technical publications

As a Multi Skilled Engineer / Engineering Technician your purpose is to provide high quality scheduled and unplanned/reactive maintenance across the blow moulding / Dairy site

You should be qualified to HND level or have equivalent experience in a relevant area including experience in the safe operation and basic maintenance of A/V & A/V related equipment: video cameras, DSLRs, audio recorders & microphones, tripods & stands, projectors, media players, etc. with an understanding of the creative use of this equipment.
