Role Summary:

Millwall Football club is seeking a Facilities Operative to work with a leading London championship football club, assisting the Head of Facilities /Safety Officer with general maintenance duties. We are looking for an experienced and skilled Facilities operative to perform and upkeep tasks such as repairs, inspections, plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating, general maintenance and planned improvement services to our facilitates. The individual will be responsible for assisting other trades when required to ensure the highest level of service across our sites.

Reporting to the Head of Facilities & Safety Officer and as part of our maintenance team you will work across the business portfolio, including The Den, Calmont Road training ground and Well Hall (Academy), to carry out a wide range of maintenance duties.



Key Responsibilities:

The role includes, but is not limited to:

· Undertake the day-day general maintenance repairs in-house for all our facilities including The Den stadium, training ground and the Academy

· Undertake painting work, such as preparing painting surfaces, removing old paint, and to use correct utilities to prepare the surrounding areas in order

· Undertake plumbing work, such as fixing leaks, unblocking drains, gutters, shower fitting and more

· Preparation of the facilities for ALL home matches

· Regular checks and repairs on lights, toilets seats, broken chairs

· Completing work in accordance with the Millwall Football club specifications and in compliance with relevant Legislation and industry best practice

· Working to operational procedures, safe working practices and Health and Safety procedures as required

· Matchday support to the Head of Facilities and other maintenance colleagues on matchdays

· Liaise with external contractors and club staff across various sites

· Building compliance duties

· Ensure maintenance records and appropriate tests/inspections as required by the Club

· Testing and Maintenance and compliance of safety systems (including emergency lighting, PA, access control and CCTV)

· To be key holder of the building and at the end of day securing the building

· To respond to any fire alarm, intruder alarm activations outside the business hours (when required)



Match day Events:

· Liaise with other departments to ensure safe Stadium event operations

· Test all safety systems prior to events

· Liaise with Head of Facilities//Safety Officer to ensure Stadium health and safety compliance pre-event

· To complete 72 hours, 48 hours pre-event safety checks (PA Systems, lighting, etc)

· Liaise with the Head of Facilities/Safety Officer during events to ensure smooth running of event

· To ensure compliance with the club’s code of conduct

What you'll be doing;

What you'll be doing;

• Maximize facility throughput by organizing and completing routine maintenance and shutdown work on all plant and equipment
  
• Provide hands-on electrical and technical support to production and other internal functions
  
• Perform PLC fault-finding, programming, and repairs on PLC-controlled machinery in heavy industry/manufacturing environments
  
• Provide plant-wide electrical maintenance services, departmental support, and repairs on various machinery like conveyors, presses, molding machines, and packaging equipment
  
• Manage workflow between shifts, allocate work for weekend shutdowns, and plan electrical work during the week
  
• Supervise on-shift technicians, distribute labor appropriately, and complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimize downtime
  
• Plan and schedule all maintenance aspects of the plastic recycling facility, minimizing disruption and maximizing uptime and availability
  
• Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance on various plant and equipment, including conveyors, dryers, balers, low-voltage equipment, pumps, motors, gearboxes, drives, centrifuges, material handling equipment, extruders, auxiliaries, hydraulics, pneumatics, and separation technology
  
• Ensure management of contractors on site, review risk assessments and method statements, and enforce safe working practices
  

What we're looking for;

• Recognized Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship & Qualification or equivalent Level 3 qualification (NVQ, City and Guilds, etc.)
  
• PLC fault-finding and programming experience
  
• Proven experience working at a high level with material handling equipment
  
• Experienced with conveyors, balers, low voltage equipment, pumps, motors, plant auxiliaries, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical/optical separation, magnetic and eddy current separation technology
  
• Comprehensive practical experience in maintenance within a process industry, preferably in a recycling environment (though not essential)
  
• Enthusiastic and competent problem-solver with a practical approach to engineering problems
  
• Ability to demonstrate analytical approach to investigation and practical ability to resolve engineering problems
  
• Experience with low voltage power systems, control systems, and software (DCS/SCADA/HMI/PLC)
  
• Familiarity with CMMS/AMMS systems would be advantageous

Your new role

A large part of your role will be centred on the processing and reporting of managed accounts, handling North American Open market and Binder claims from cradle to grave, processing the monthly bordereaux, and compiling loss runs on request from internal stakeholders of the business.

You will be expected to liaise with third party claims insurers and administrators when bordereau issues arise, build, and maintain strong relationships to ensure their service meets regulatory requirements and the requirements of their clients. You will also need to maintain an accurate and up-to-date record of claims files on the Risk Serve system and continuously monitor the progress of each claim.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need a strong understanding of London market Claims Processing (ECF/CLASS required). You must be aware of the most up-to-date regulatory legislation, and you must have a good grasp on the legal principles of insurance. Previous experience in handling North American Non-Marine Claims is a MUST.

You will also need to be a great team player, highly organised with a friendly and professional telephone manner and show great attention to detail. You will demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the insurance industry, and you will be confident using Microsoft Excel and Word.
