ENDOSCOPY DECONTAMINATION TECHNICIAN

One Ashford Hospital, Kent has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Endoscopy Decontamination Technician to join our friendly Theatres & Endoscopy team.

Reporting to the Endoscopy Lead & Theatre Manager, the successful candidate will assist the qualified nurses to care for patients following surgical, investigative or medical procedures in line with national guidelines, hospital policies and best practice standards in the Endoscopy & Theatre setting, including:

o Participating in admission, recovery and discharge of endoscopy patients, in accordance with unit policies and patient pathways, reporting to qualified staff as directed.


o Co-ordinating the use of the supplies and equipment during an endoscopy list and in the immediate post-operative phase of care ensuring the equipment is used in an appropriate and safe manner


o Participating effectively in the preparation, maintenance, cleaning and disinfecting of all equipment and procedure rooms.


o Decontaminating all equipment after each procedure


o Supporting in an administrative capacity as and when required


HOURS: 37.5 per week; shifts between 8am & 8pm Monday to Friday.

ENDOSCOPY DECONTAMINATION TECHNICIAN

QUALIFICATIONS:

o Minimum GCSE education or equivalent
o NVQ or equivalent, Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care preferred

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes of practice.
• Hold relevant training records of required competencies • Work in accordance to Sodexo’s policies and procedures.
• Carry out repairs and preventative maintenance to all electrical systems where suitably trained within the establishment.
• Maintain accurate records of all preventative maintenance and repair work carried out and report in detail any substandard or defective equipment.
• Accurate records of maintenance and repair work will be maintained.
• All work will be completed to relevant trade standards (18th Edition).
• Perform scheduled maintenance service on electrical systems and fixtures.
• Carry out, out of hours call out procedures on an “On Call” rota system and take appropriate action.
• Working 5 days in 7 (including occasional weekends).
• Carry out repairs and preventative maintenance to all electrical systems where suitably trained within the establishment.
• Perform scheduled maintenance service on electrical systems and fixtures.
• Escort specialist contractors and work beside them as required.
• Support the Health and Safety culture.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

• Demonstrable knowledge and experience of fault finding, installation and repairs.
• Knowledge of commercial electrical repairs on HVAC, AHU, controls and BMS systems an advantage.
• Previous experience of testing, inspection and PAT testing.
• Proven experience of working with a Health and Safety culture.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Demonstrable experience of working with schedules and deadlines ▪ Qualified to 18th Edition (BS 7671).

Package Description
£38,478.00 per annum +£3,729.24 LW per annum.

Working Hours

37.50 hours (Regular Monday – Friday pattern).
