About the role

Under general supervision, the Instrumentation & Electrical Lead Technician directs other I & E maintenance personnel in performing skilled instrumentation and electrical work in support of the overall facility operation and in maintaining operation of the process plant and power generation plant in compliance with established production schedules and plant output requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Takes an active role in working with operations supervisors, lead people and relief operators in prioritizing work to be done and in coordinating activities with operations and maintenance personnel.
• Follows up and checks on all job activities throughout the shift to ensure all work assignments are completed correctly and as requested.
• Advises and helps complete work that has become difficult or complicated beyond normal repairs.
• Sets up and pre-stages parts from the warehouse and helps in finding and retrieving parts from the warehouse to expedite work.
• Completes reports to the Daily Log with notations concerning future work.
• Relays information from supervision and management and communicates with the crew concerning schedules, anticipated schedule changes, and overtime opportunities.

• Considering the lead position a “working” position, the lead person expects to not only direct the crew’s assignments, but to also participate as part of the crew.

Schedule:

During training (4-8 weeks) schedule will be Monday- Friday 6:00 am -2:30pm

After the training period this position will be an 8 or 10-hour day shift position. There is a rotating on call schedule and additional hours are scheduled during planned or unplanned outages; possibility of night support may be needed during this time.. This schedule is subject to change based on business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have at least 2 years as a Senior I & E Technician. 
• Minimum four years as an industrial electrician, at least two of which includes experience in instrumentation or with adequate training certificates, or a two-year technical degree in instrumentation and two years’ experience in the power generation field.
• Must have a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.

This engineering technician position will be in support of Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona Division's missile telemetry data branch in their East Coast operations in Portsmouth, VA.

What You’ll Get to Do:

What You’ll Get to Do:
As a SATCOM Technician, you will be responsible for the installation of full satellite systems at various global locations.  You will work as a member of a team to complete the build of all satellite subsystems including the indoor and outdoor equipment.

More About the Role:

• Installation of full satellite systems at various global locations; including both outdoor dish assembly and indoor electronic rack assembly and configuration. 

• Will be responsible for activating services, ensuring satellite acquisition from the terminal, verification of signal levels, fault isolation on any performance affecting issues, repair or replacement of satellite components that are deemed faulty, and/or peaking the system to the satellite to ensure that service is providing optimal performance.

• Provide global support for customer-required satellite Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities; i.e. periodic PMI, circuit restorations, circuit activations, circuit troubleshooting, infrastructure repair; system relocations, etc.

• Responsible for the installation, termination, and testing of cable connections that support the satellite system during an installation or O&M project. These connections consist of both fiber and copper cables.

• Responsible for the installation of conduit, ladder racks, demarcation boxes, power runs, breaker panels, breakers, and any other infrastructure needs to support a satellite installation or O&M project.

• Responsible for interpreting and utilizing satellite interconnect (IC) drawings or wiring schematics to ensure that the system is cabled correctly between the dish and the internal electronics rack, and network management during an installation or O&M project.

• Responsible for providing effective communication of all activities, issues, concerns, and needs on a daily and/or weekly basis during a satellite installation or O&M project using formal and informal channels.

• Ensuring that all project documentation is filled out completely, grammatically correct, factual, and delivered in a timely and professional fashion. Further, the technician is responsible for communicating the details of any satellite installation or O&M activity to on-site customers before commencement and after all project activities.

• Responsible for cleaning and testing fly-away satellite terminal kits used for emergency service needs, temporary building relocation support, and disaster recovery.

• Responsible for providing site surveys that include such tasks as potential pad location, dish location, issues that may prevent proper installation of outdoor equipment, performing horizon profiles, identifying power requirements, cable distances, facility access issues, etc.

Required Qualifications:

• TS/SCI and willingness to sit for a polygraph are required.

• Minimum of 6 years of related experience

• Must have the ability to lift, maneuver, and assemble satellite equipment of various weights and sizes (generally single-man lift of 70 lbs. and two-man lift of 150 lbs.)

• Must understand satellite signal flow and RF theory; additionally, the technician is responsible for maintaining satellite skills set and educational levels related to current customer satellite systems and potential emerging satellite technologies.

• Record accurate and timely information regarding vital signs and treatment parameters onto the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet with initial identification.
• Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to patient treatment including completion of Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet and if applicable progress notes.
• Report any significant information and/or change in patient condition directly to the nurse supervisor. 
• Observe patient and conduct machine safety checks according to facility policy.  Report any change or unusual findings to the nurse supervisor.
• Perform and document any intervention for unusual patient status and document patients' response to intervention.
• Evaluate patients' vascular access during treatment including arterial and venous monitoring pressures provide appropriate intervention as needed document and report any unusual findings to the nurse supervisor.
• Obtain all prescribed laboratory testing and prepare specimens for collection.

MAINTENANCE/TECHNICAL:

• Maintain environmental integrity and aesthetics - ensure all areas are safe and clean.
• Clean and disinfect dialysis machine surface chair equipment and surrounding area between treatments according to facility policy.
• Conduct all tasks necessary for preparation for dialysis treatment and document where appropriate.
• Perform all required pretreatment dialysis machine alarm testing including Pressure Holding (PHT).
• Initiate Solution Delivery System (SDS) system. 
• Ensure that all blood spills are immediately cleaned with appropriate disinfectant according to facility policy.
• Prepare organize and efficiently utilize supplies and equipment to prevent wastage.

CLERICAL & ADMINISTRATIVE:

• Complete and document ongoing participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities. 
• Enters all treatment data into the designated clinical application accurately and in a timely manner.
• Review treatment sheets for completeness ensure nursing signatures are documented and ensure omitted entries are completed or corrected where appropriate.

• Record accurate and timely information regarding vital signs and treatment parameters onto the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet with initial identification.
• Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to patient treatment including completion of Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet and, if applicable, progress notes.
• Report any significant information and/or change in patient condition directly to the nurse supervisor. 
• Observe patient, and conduct machine safety checks according to facility policy.  Report any change or unusual findings to the nurse supervisor.
• Perform and document any intervention for unusual patient status and document patients' response to intervention.
• Evaluate patients’ vascular access during treatment including arterial and venous monitoring pressures, provide appropriate intervention as needed, document and report any unusual findings to the nurse supervisor.
• Obtain all prescribed laboratory testing and prepare specimens for collection.

MAINTENANCE/TECHNICAL:

• Maintain environmental integrity and aesthetics - ensure all areas are safe and clean.
• Clean and disinfect dialysis machine surface, chair, equipment, and surrounding area between treatments according to facility policy.
• Conduct all tasks necessary for preparation for dialysis treatment and document where appropriate.
• Perform all required pretreatment dialysis machine alarm testing including Pressure Holding (PHT).

•    Monitors patients’ response to dialysis therapy.
•    Evaluates patient prior to termination of venous access and discontinues dialysis treatment according to established procedures.
•    Reports any significant information and/or change in patient condition directly to supervisor.
•    Enters all treatment data into the designated clinical application in an accurate and timely manner.
•    Collects, labels, appropriately prepares, and stores lab samples according to required laboratory specifications.
•    Cleans and disinfects dialysis machine surface, chair, equipment, and surrounding area between treatments according to facility policy.
•    Assists other healthcare members in providing patient education.
•    Prepares, organizes, and efficiently uses supplies and equipment to prevent waste.
 

EDUCATION AND LICENSES:
•    High school diploma or G.E.D. required.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
•    Qualities and traits: dependable, compassionate, caring, supportive, collaborative, reliable.
•    Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related facility (preferred but not required).
•    Continued employment is dependent on successful completion of the Fresenius Medical Care dialysis training program and successful completion of CPR certification.

•    Day-to-day work includes desk and personal computer work and interaction with patients, facility staff, and physicians. The position requires travel between assigned facilities and various locations within the community. Travel to regional, business unit and corporate meetings may be required.
•    The work environment is characteristic of a healthcare facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials.
•    The position provides direct patient care that regularly involves heavy lifting and moving of patients and assisting with ambulation. Equipment aids and/or coworkers may provide assistance. This position requires frequent, prolonged periods of standing and the employee must be able to bend over. The employee may occasionally be required to push and/or pull equipment, exerting up to 15 pounds of force. The employee may be required to lift and to lower solutions on a frequent basis of up to 30 lbs., and on an occasional basis lift up to 40 lbs., as high as 5 feet. There is a 2-person assist program and "material assist” devices for the heavier items.

What our Automotive Repair Technicians do:

• Perform the following repairs: suspension and steering diagnosis and repair, brakes diagnosis and repair, including ABS/traction control, electrical diagnosis and repair, heating and air conditioning diagnosis and repairs.
• Maintains in-depth knowledge of specialized skills, and continue to develop additional technical skills, to enable flexibility in work assignments. 
• Accurately performs repairs and maintenance on all vehicles as specified in manufacturer-designed procedures or accepted industry practices

What you will need:

• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications (or ability to obtain in 12 months - paid by AAA) or car dealer certifications
• State Safety and Emissions license preferred, not required
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
• Ability to lift a maximum of 75 pounds, and stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Satisfactory employment screening results including criminal, drug, and motor vehicle.
