Facilities Manager Technical

Salary: £36,996-£46,674 per annum (includes discretionary area)
We are proud to be working with Hertfordshire Constabulary who are currently seeking a Technical Facilities Manager to join their team based in Welwyn Garden City on a full time, permanent basis.
What will you be doing?
Based at Welwyn Garden City HQ, the Facilities team are responsible for ensuring the Constabulary’s buildings across the estate are compliant and fit for purpose and services provided offer value for money.
The Facilities Manager Technical is part of the Estates and Facilities team and is responsible for maintaining various types of Mechanical & Electrical plant across the wider policing estate. The role is responsible for managing the delivery of an effective and compliant facilities management service through in-house staff, suppliers and consultants with a focus on hard services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Check and approve expenditure against FM budgets.
· Maintain regular and effective communication with building users, suppliers and colleagues.
· Ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
· Monitor works conducted/service provided by suppliers.
· Audit and inspect supplier works.
· Measure and report supplier performance against agreed SLAs.
· Manage suppliers to ensure effective, safe and compliant delivery of all M&E related services.
· Support development of contract specifications and supplier tender processes.
· Procure goods and services, following procedures and policies.
· Support the capital delivery team advising on replacement programmes.
· Undertake regular building inspections, complete reports and initiate/progress any required works.
· Ensure compliance with all current statutory legislation in respect of health and safety and the environment.
· Manage local environmental activities to meet statutory obligations.
· Ensure compliance with all internal procedures and policies – e.g. Procurement, Finance, Compliance, HR
· Ensure security and emergency procedures are robust and support emergency situations.
What do you need?
· BTEC/HNC Mechanical or Electrical Engineering level qualification, or equivalent experience
· Knowledge of IET regulations and Health and Safety legislation
· Knowledge of ACOP L8
· Ability to undertake risk analysis
· Supervisory experience preferable
· Experience of Technical Facilities Management and energy management across a wider estate.
· Experience of monitoring and targeting work streams
· Good working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office
· Full, valid UK driving licence as you will be required to travel to a number of locations around Hertfordshire.
