To work as part of the IT Support Team, to support the effective use of ICT to meet the changing needs of the Academies and enable students to achieve their potential. To lead in ICT incident and problem management on site and via the Service Desk. To work alongside the ICT Systems Manager in project work. To provide guidance, support and supervision of the IT Technician(s) and IT Apprentice(s).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Specialist Function
1. Provide expert onsite technical support to the Multi Academy Trust and remote support via Service Desk (Service Desk with Incident, Problem, Change management and IT Projects).2. Ensure the effective maintenance and management of ICT/AV hardware, software and processes.3. Administrate Active Directory, Exchange, and Office365.4. Administrate academy websites across TMET.5. Install new and upgrade software/hardware.6. To participate in setting plans and processes to manage installations and upgrades to ICT equipment, software and infrastructure.7. To provide technical mentorship and training to IT technicians and support Service Desk processes.8. To provide subsequent support for the use of ICT across the academy and external facilities/events, including fixing faults, troubleshooting and setting up equipment.9. To take on responsibility for the project management of changes and implementations to ICT equipment, software and infrastructure, as delegated by the Head of IT/IT Systems Manager.10. Lead the onsite execution of changes and updates as directed by the Head of IT Services/IT Systems Manager.11. To assist in maintaining appropriate inventory and cataloguing systems.12. To keep abreast of developments in technology and their application for education.13. To offer recommendations to the Head of IT/IT Systems Manager on additional and better use of ICT resources in the Trust.14. To provide support for assemblies and Academy events, working with staff and students to ensure all equipment requirements are met.15. Support of whole Academy initiatives to develop the curriculum.16. To contribute to in-house training for in-house staff, including updates on software developments and impact on the academy.Technical Responsibilities
1. Windows Server Admistration in line with Trust policies (AD, GPOs, Backups, etc)2. Maintenance and support of IT environment including Microsoft Windows, Apple iOS/OSX, Google devices including MDM solutions ensuring all systems are patched and protected.3. Management of CVE findings and appropriate patches of applications and operating systems.4. Setup and maintenance of new servers, workstations, laptops, tablets, and Audio-visual equipment.5. Installation and configuration of software, drivers, printers etc.6. Network installation, maintenance, and configuration of LAN, VLAN, Wireless, VoIP and WAN technologies.Curriculum Development
1. To have an awareness of improvements, alternatives and more innovative use of ICT in the curriculum including e-learning technologies and enhanced learning environments2. To offer advice to the Head of IT/IT Systems Manager on developments in the use of ICT for education, including recommendations for purchasing of IT related equipment.3. To provide support in the use of ICT and Audio-Visual/Multi-media and liaise with curriculum staff to ensure all requirements are met, and to work with students in the use of these facilities.4. To assist in the effective running of online exams, and to provide appropriate support as required during the exam.General
