If a relevant qualification is not already held the post holder will study and work towards the NVQ Level 3 qualification in Pharmacy Services to achieve a Band 5 post. Responsible for reviewing information relating to High Cost Drugs (HCDs) within RSFT. To support the team in collating the HCD data from the JAC pharmacy computer system and the relevant In and Out patient areas. To accurately review daily, weekly and monthly quality reports to meet targets for the Trust Finance team for recharging to the Commissioners. To manage and develop Pharmacy Homecare Services Responsible for enabling the accurate management of patients prescriptions with 3rd Party homecare companies in order to ensure a safe and timely supply of medication to patients. Responsible for the accurate costing of private patients bills on request. All of the above benefit the Trust financial position. Key Result Areas:1. Ensure that all drug expenditure on excluded medicines is recovered from Commissioners.2. Ensure that all patients receiving medication via a 3rd Party Homecare route are managed appropriately.3. Ensure that the Private Patient Office is provided with information on medication use that is rechargeable

To provide pharmaceutical services to Inpatients and Outpatients and other Hospitals and Clinics of the District from the main Inpatient Dispensary. To work as part of the pharmacy stores and distribution team to provide a drug top up service to 30+ wards and clinics. Accurately top up pharmaceutical stock on wards or departments as allocated. As part of the Medicines Management team provide technical services to a range of specialties within the Trust. The post holder will work within the main Inpatient Dispensary and participate in the Ward Based Medicines Management (MM) Service. To assist the Lead Technicians in coordinating the workflow, training and supervision of staff. Accurately dispense and deliver pharmaceuticals to patients from the RSCH Dispensary. Work towards and complete the national accredited checking qualification (ACPT) to undertake the final checking of dispensed products, if not already qualfied Work towards and complete the Educational Supervisor qualification (if funding available) to assess and support NVQ candidates. Participate in the distribution service for stock drugs and vaccines to wards and departments. A Band 4 on a development pathway can be considered for this post. Confirmation to Band 5 will be subject to achievement of key objectives depending on persons knowledge and experience.
