Claremont Fan Court School is an independent day school for pupils aged from 2½ to 18 years. The school is set in 99 acres of historic landscaped grounds of the Claremont Estate in Esher, Surrey.
We are growing our team and are seeking to appoint 3 facilities assistants to work as part of the in-house team responsible for the safe upkeep and running of the school’s facilities.
Working throughout the year, Monday to Saturday on a rota basis, 40 hours per week, 10.30am – 7.00pm. Key responsibilities of the role include portering, parking management, event logistics and site security. There will also be general repairs and maintenance across the site.
The successful applicant will be a strong team member and equally capable of working on their own. Mid Essex Sterile Supplies Department is a friendly and fast paced Unit supplying the Trust Theatre complex and other areas with sterile packs and instruments.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated and proactive individuals to join the team who are methodical and meticulous to detail, to wash, inspect, pack and sterilise surgical instruments ensuring the best decontamination service for our customers and patients.

If successful, you will:

Learn how to work in the disinfection area, work in progress, sterilization room and distribution section with training and support in order to fully understand the process and function of each area.

Operate all capital equipment safely following work instructions. 28 Cubic foot sterilisers operating parameters of 137° c, manually operated using trolleys: Washer disinfectors operating parameters of 90°c manual loading, unloading, pushing and pulling required.

Work as requested by STO’s, seniors and intermediates, support all senior staff to ensure that user’s requirements are met.

Ensure all reusable invasive medical devices are fit for purpose, clean, present, and reprocessed to the HTM 01 series, and departmental processes (follow manufacturer’s instructions).

Follow the planned reprocessing actions, ensuring they are delivered safely and effectively in a timely manner and understand them.

Report to a senior colleague any failure with capital equipment as soon as it is identified in order that it is repaired as soon as possible.

Work as part of the team to ensure that all work is delivered in a timely manner.

Assist the Senior staff in final checks on internally manufactured reusable medical devices out of hours prior to sterilization if requested to do so.

About the Team

The Survey Team is part of Transport Studies which is responsible for providing a database of traffic movement data by monitoring and maintaining traffic counting equipment across Surrey. We use the data to make important decisions on local transport and infrastructure changes to improve the economic prosperity, wellbeing and resident experience in Surrey.

About the Role

We now have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join us in the Survey Team. As an Assistant Transport Surveys Technician, you will become an expert in planning, collecting and managing movement data from across the County. You will install and maintain roadside equipment that detects vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians, resolving technical problems that occur, enabling the collection of accurate and reliable traffic movement data.

We receive frequent requests for vehicle counts, classifications, speeds, cycle counts, turning counts, pedestrian crossing counts and desire lines. Typical equipment you will work with to obtain this information is induction loop counters from Clearview Intelligence, pneumatic tube counters from Metrocount, Speed Detection Radars (SDR's) from Tagmaster and camera systems from Vivacity Labs and Miovision. You will analyse collected data, taking into consideration occurrences which may impact the data such as roadworks and collisions, working as directed by the Transport Analyst.

The job is very practical, involving a mixture of on-site work travelling throughout the county, maintenance and preparation at our workshop in Leatherhead, and desk based office work typically in Woking or Leatherhead. A Surrey County Council van will be provided for your work.

Shortlisting Criteria

To be considered for shortlisting for this position your application will clearly evidence the following:

• Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent, or able to evidence ability at an equivalent level
• Good IT skills including database management systems, MS Excel and email
• Experience with analysing data and producing reports
• Ability to work independently as well as with others
• Good administrative, analytical and organisational skills
• Able to prioritise and plan your own workload, being flexible about day to day activities, working on your own initiative

A valid driving licence to drive in the UK and willingness to travel across a wide geographical area. Reasonable adjustments where needed will be made for successful applicants who have a disability or long term health condition to enable them to fulfil the requirements of the job.
