We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic Senior Pharmacy Technician (Clinical Services).

Your role will involve working with the Chief Pharmacy Technician (Clinical Services) to manage and develop our technical ward services team.

This role requires excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, alongside sound knowledge of clinical ward services. Relevant experience and good written and verbal communication skills are also essential.

You will alsosupport the Chief Pharmacy Technician (Clinical Services) to manage and co-ordinate the technical staff on wards, implement omnicell systems at ward level and manage the satellite dispensaries on wards.

In addition, you willbe required to provide medicines management cover to clinical ward services; completing medicines reconciliation, discharge planning and final accuracy checking of prescriptions.

The department operates a 7 day service to the Medical Care Group. Participation in the late night working, weekend and Bank Holiday rotas will also be required.

KEY DUTIES

About the Role
Our client are looking for a Helpdesk Administrator to join their Property & Facilities team. This role is the first point of contact for all internal facilities matters related to the leased offices and stores they occupy. You will be responsible for overseeing the facilities helpdesk, including dealing with reactive property related issues, including logging and allocating work requests to contactors, ensuring they are dealt with effectively, and in a timely and professional manner. You will also assist with the delivery of the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) contract.
The normal working week is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hrs per week. Your start and finish time are to be agreed with your line manager.

Role Responsibilities:
• To act as a central point of contact for property and facilities related matters pertaining to the leased properties we occupy
• Maintain the CAFM system and administer reactive requests from inception to completion
• Assign reactive work requests with a suitable Service Level Agreement to the most appropriate landlord, contractor or member of the facilities team
• Aim for a first-time fix approach based on H&S, business impact, maintaining building integrity impacts and manage customer expectations accordingly
• Seek and recommend appropriate contractors where existing supplies do not cover the task and maintain contractor records
• Proactively update open work orders, liaise with sites and manage works requests through to satisfactory resolution, updating CAFM and customers accordingly

To prepare the deceased for viewing in a sensitive and respectful manner demonstrating awareness of religious requirements subject to individual risk assessment Carry out surgical evisceration, and patient reconstruction processes in the post-mortem suite in accordance with mortuary policies to enable identification for Police, viewings for relatives and dignified collection from funeral directors. Carry out routine and advanced post-mortem procedures including specialist techniques e.g. removal of spinal cord, middle ear & pituitary were requested by a consultant histopathologist. Ensure effective reconstruction and cosmetic presentation of bodies following extreme trauma e.g. Road traffic accident, suicide and persons hit by trains etc. Perform invisceration of organs and suturing of bodies at the request of the Consultant Histopathologist or other medical staff on hospital and Coroners post-mortems. To assist in the system for the receipt, handling, and disposal of Products of Conception from the Gynae and Midwifery Services at ODGH Ensure that high standards of cleanliness and tidiness are always maintained in the department in accordance with departmental SOPs and HSE guidelines. To maintain equipment on a day-to-day basis in accordance with policies/procedures and in accordance with manufacturers guidelines Report equipment fault or incidents to the Mortuary manager or in his/her absence the Cellular Pathology manager. To work with the Clinical Trials Pharmacist to co-ordinate the safe and accurate operation of clinical trials within the department, which involves the receipt, correct storage, dispensing processes, and administration duties involved, and to ensure that other dispensing staff are kept up to date with training. To participate in / lead other relevant department meetings and contribute to positive and effective communication within the department. CLINICAL & PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES To act in a professional manner consistent with the GPhC standards to ensure a safe and effective service for patients. To maintain registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. To maintain continuing professional development in line with GPhC requirements. ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSABILITIES To assist in the receipt of prescriptions / requisitions accurately according to safe working practices and ensuring adherence to current legislation. To be responsible for making accurate records in the Controlled Drug Register. To be responsible for organising own daily workload within allocated areas. To carry out prescription charge transactions accurately, including Chip and pin, handling cash, cheques and be able to cash-up in the dispensaries as necessary, according to departmental procedures. To record any information and assist in the compilation of any data necessary, including ordering inpatient medication and transcribing information on medicine kardexes to pharmacy order forms accurately. To lead with the recruitment of staff into the stores section and assist with other sections as necessary. To extemporaneously dispense medicines using specific equipment (e.g. fume cupboards and weighing balances) and taking protective measures. Weighing and measuring must be accurate as there are narrow margins for errors. To co-operate with the provision of staffing within the Pharmaceutical service and participate in staff rotation to all Trust sites (e.g. Whiston, St Helens) when the need arises. To answer telephone and face to face queries from a wide range of staff groups, patients and the public, either in the pharmacy or on the ward, and refer appropriate queries to the relevant member of the pharmacy team when necessary. This may include communication of complex or sensitive information. To be responsible for the accurate input of data into the pharmacy JAC computer system for all duties requiring its use e.g. labelling, ordering and stock control. To participate in and perform regular appraisals on technical staff according to the departmental appraisal cascade and Trust policies, and address staff development needs with regard to the stores and distribution service. TEACHING & TRAINING RESPONSBILITIES To assist in the training and development of all grades of staff in the systems used including other professionals e.g. discharge planning and the efficient operation of dispensing for discharge. To assist in the training and support of ATOs and pre-registration pharmacy graduates in dispensing training manual requirements and act as an expert witness for NVQ students. To assist in the training and development of other members of staff in patient services and to ensure complete training records are maintained. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY To co-operate in the provision of an efficient and cost effective service, by ensuring that medicines are available to treat patients , but also helping to reduce waste and improve efficiency. RESEARCH & AUDIT To carry out and assist in audit research projects to improve and develop the service provision, and provide reports when required.

The Head of Estates and Facilities is a key role accountable for the management of total facilities services across the Hospice, The Living Well and our retail sites. The Head of Estates and Facilities will be accountable for the operational delivery of high-quality catering, housekeeping and maintenance service to all patients, employees, volunteers, and visitors to the Hospice. They will also be accountable for the fabric of the Hospice building and tangible assets including planned preventative maintenance (PPM), waste management, contract and contractor management, security, utilities, and energy sustainability. They will be the nominated competent person ensuring health and safety legislative and policy compliance.
