Hays Construction & Property is working in partnership with a maintenance contractor in Kent and is seeking an experienced Maintenance Multi-Trader. Having recently taken on additional contracts, they need to bolster and expand their maintenance team.

About the Role
Working to deliver the best quality service, carrying out responsive and planned repairs covering the whole of Kent, you'll undertake a variety of trade repairs and maintenance work to include plumbing, carpentry and electrical in the public sector. You'll receive and complete assigned tasks using a handheld device (full training), working efficiently and safely in line with the best practise to achieve excellent customer experience.

About You
Candidates will hold a City & Guilds qualification and have excellent knowledge of Health & Safety. Customers focused on experience of working in the public sector. We are looking for someone who has a passion for completing high-quality repairs on time, for the first time. Punctual, reliable and comfortable operating small hand-held plants such as drills and breakers.

You must hold a valid full UK driving licence for a minimum of 12 months as a company vehicle will be provided (work use only).

Surface Mount Assembly Technician/Operator

Location: Rochester

The role is to assist in the manufacture of a wide range of electronic assemblies within the production department to ensure goods are produced in a timely manner to meet customer deadlines.

The Job

• Assembly of small volume surface mount PCBs by hand including operation of our reflow oven
• Manufacture of cable assemblies
• Full operation of our pick and place machine including loading components
• Programming of the pick and place for new boards using a PC
• Helping with mechanical assembly of our products when required
• Liaising with the engineering team regarding production problems
• Ensuring the work environment is kept tidy and safe

The person

• Ability to hand solder. Knowledge of IPC-A-610 (best practice) and other standards in relation to the job. An IPC qualification is highly desirable, but not essential if you have appropriate experience. Please note that part of the selection process will include a practical test.
• Experience of the assembly of SMT PCBs to required standards
• Know about pick and place technology, PCB production and gerber files
• Understand manufacturing documents and follow specific instructions
