As a Logistics Specialist, you’ll be joining an elite team of subject matter experts supporting Military Sealift Command’s Ship Maintenance Support Program providing a full range of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) services to ships operating worldwide.
What you’ll get to do:
- Research, order, and track material identified by Principal Port engineers as Government Furnished Material (GFM)
- Perform technical edit screening on all material or service order requests
- Research, submit, track, and validate requisitions and material required to support ship mission, repair, ashore allowances, and shipboard allowance requirements.
- Monitor and maintain the status of all material ordered for ship maintenance availabilities; participate in cradle to grave tracking processes to support ship maintenance scheduling.
Additionally, you get to:
- Maintain inventory accuracy of all assigned vessels stored in various MSC warehouses
- Perform task administration, team training and quality assurance
- Track Temporary Navy Items Control Number (TNICN) functions to include receipt and turn in of refurbished materials as well as research, validate and provide up to date feedback to Type Desk via a monthly excel report
- Provide review/verification of Statements of Work, Sole Source Justifications, determination and Findings and Urgency statements for Logistics Type Desk regarding order submission
- Review ship shortage list against approved parts lists; Recommend possible actions to correct shortages
- Research parts for install to identify an existing Allowance Parts List (APL) or create APL.
- Initiate feedbacks based on research, review, new developments which include configuration change (CK), and live update to MSCs Configuration Logistics Inventory Program (CLIP) for all class ships
- Perform technical editing using research tools, such as LOGIQUEST, One Touch, PIEE, drawings, manuals, and other research methods
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
- Secret clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4 years of demonstrated knowledge, expertise, and relevant experience fleet sustainment logistics support services to fleet vessels of the MSC, U.S. Navy, or U.S. Coast Guard.
- Highly proficient in MS Office products, particularly Excel
- Experience with ship acquisition and fleet sustainment support services utilizing any of the following systems: MSC/Navy/Coast Guard/Commercial databases/systems as well as One Touch Supply LogiQuest or Haystack and FedMall

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$47,100-$96,500
