The Royal London Hospital Endoscopy Unit a St Bartholomew’s and the EDC unit at Mile End are looking for Band 2 Decontamination staff to join the existing team as we expand our services.
The unit at RLH will be open Monday to Saturday 8-6.
We are looking for people with commitment to Endoscopy and Gastroenterology. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of a large team. You should be flexible and approachable with a positive attitude, as this is the ethos of the unit.
The department opened on 2011 , it is a purpose built unit with 4 endoscopy rooms, an x-ray room and an 17 bedded recovery area with step down facilities. We have a dedicated team of Nurses who practise team nursing and rotate to all areas of the department.
The decontamination unit sits within the endoscopy unit; we have a satellite unit at Bart’s hospital, which all staff will rotate to, once trained.
We undertake all Endoscopy procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, EBUS, Spy Glass, bronchoscopy and capsule endoscopy. The unit processes all the flexible scopes for the Royal London Site.

Assist the registered nurse to provide nursing care for endoscopy patients.
Demonstrate the department / directorate philosophy of care.
Respect patient confidentiality.
Work under the supervision of the registered nurse with continuing responsibility for the department.
Work as part of the endoscopy Team.
To work as part of the decontamination team on a rotational basis; working on the clean and dirty side of the MEEDC unit, RLH and at St Barts.
