Service Care Solutions have an exciting opportunity working in partnership with a Housing Association who have a vacancy for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join their team on a Temporary contract, where you'll be covering the Yeovil and surrounding areas.

We are looking for a proactive, great team player and someone with a good eye for detail who's looking for a new challenge.

Working within a team, you'll be responsible for the upkeep of the external communal areas, grass, shrubs and hedges. You may also be required to undertake soft landscaping/minor tree work.

You'll be covering sites across Slough, Windsor and Ascot from the main base in Slough and have the flexibility to plan your workload within a fortnightly round.

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Maintenance Operative to join our growing team, providing essential maintenance services across the Somerset area.

In this role, you will be working within our domestic properties with damp and mould cases. The position involves working on installations of kitchens and bathrooms as well as external duties.

We are seeking individuals who can consistently deliver work to a high standard and ensure complete customer satisfaction by completing jobs 'Right First Time.

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 2 in core trade (Plastering, Bricklaying, Maintenance etc)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Previous experience in domestic properties

You will be working 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with some overtime available.

The hourly pay rate for this role is £16.72 Ltd (PAYE equivalent £14.25 Inclusive of holiday).

About the role

Lead for Housing Property Teams, overseeing the responsive repairs and void section within the housing team, ensuring all projects and works are delivered to cost, quality, and time constraints.

Works to housing stock are critical to minimise the risk to residents and the public, as well as to meet legislative and regulatory requirements and maintain the future value of the Council's housing asset portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear leadership to deliver the Council's strategic priorities and meet the Council's financial targets, as a member of the Directorates Senior Leadership Team.
• Update and advise Elected Members in respect of operational and policy issues in relation to the Service.
• Lead with a clear identity in terms of flexible and responsive ways of working, inclusive and diverse culture, and high level of employee engagement and wellbeing.
• Undertake representational and communication duties on behalf of the Council to promote and protect the Council's interests in matters concerning their specialist areas.
• Create, monitor, and review frameworks of performance measures and quality standards to be applied in the delivery of services.
• Function as an ambassador for the Council promoting, both internally and externally, the Council's vision, strategic aims, and values.
