Duties/Responsibilities:  

• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and improvement projects on department injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment in accordance with safety and GMP procedures. 

• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment. 

• Perform preventative maintenance (PM's) on injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment. 

• Maintain parts inventory 

• Support engineering projects-ordering and installation of new equipment, new equipment IQ's. 

• Continuous Improvement projects to reduce expenses, improve reliability, and reduce waste. 

• Perform troubleshooting, diagnose causes, and repair equipment as required.   

• Test electronic circuits to locate defects and understand the use of oscilloscopes, signal generators, amp meters, and voltmeters.   

• Install, modify and understand control panel wiring. Work closely with the Controls group to understand and modify PLC programs and maintain PLC ladder logic programs. 

• Train operators and assist with machine set-ups/operation as required. 

• Work with central crib to maintain an inventory of spare parts, both fabricated and commercial.   Perform troubleshooting and repair of pneumatic and mechanical systems. 

• Propose design changes and review with engineer to upgrade equipment, eliminate re-occurring problems, improve product quality, reduce costs, etc.   

• Individual will be trained to run, diagnose, and rebuild all key manufacturing equipment.      

• Other duties as required to support the needs of the business 

Education: 

• High School Diploma or GED required 

• Completion of two years technical school training in electronics, electrical mechanical, and/or equivalent experience in the military/industry required 

Experience:  

• 5 years’ experience in maintenance and repair of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems in lieu of a 2-year related technical degree.  No experience required with a related 2-year technical degree. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

• Thorough understanding of hydraulic, electric, mechanical and pneumatic systems - Proficient 

• Ability to read blueprints and schematics - Proficient 

• Computer skills (SAP, Excel, Word preferred) - Basic

Position Summary:                                            

Assigned a mentor who will direct their summer work experience. Work assignments will be commensurate with the student's academic background to take advantage of their technical expertise and provide real life application of their classroom knowledge. At the same time, opportunities will be provided for students to expand their knowledge outside the boundaries of their classroom experiences.  Typical roles our Mold Repair interns experience will include Mold Repair Technicians and Department Mold Technicians with exposure to mold maintenance and repair, and setting/pulling molds in production.  Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures, and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures.  Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function.  Ability to read, write and converse in English.  Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

• Troubleshooting/Root Cause analysis

• Work with a mentor on assignments which are commensurate with academic background

Shift: 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. / rotating days (A Shift).

Duties and Responsibilities:

The general function of this job is to setup, changeover, improve and maintain the production equipment condition such that quality and quantity standards are met or exceeded.  Setups are also responsible for training/developing operators and providing on-the-floor leadership

• Responsible for doing changeovers and setting up the equipment properly.

• Must keep equipment running in a good state of repair to meet production and quality standards.

• Is responsible for generating accurate maintenance records and other records as required by management.

• Responsible for machine cleanliness and preventive maintenance.

• Must provide coverage for others who are absent.

• Helps operators run equipment and provide assistance during operators’ break times.

• Must actively participate and lead teams, including but not limited to:  scheduling, process improvement, safety, and continuous improvement.

• Must work safely, handle chemicals properly and ensure the safety of work mates.

• Expected to comply with other requests made by management.

• May work in a clean room environment and need to follow all GMP rules.

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED

• Associates degree in mechanical related field is preferred

• Ability to speak, read & write English

• Must have the mechanical skills/education/background required to setup, changeover, problem solve, improve, and maintain production equipment. 

• Must meet all other educational & training requirements established now or in the future by management that may result from changing technical needs.

Duties/Responsibilities:  

• Keep the line running 

• Restart press as needed 

• Perform periodical part inspection 

• Troubleshooting & preventative maintenance molding machine and fill out documentation 

• Verify the mold is running with-in validated parameters and parts meet acceptance criteria. 

• Assist with the set-up and maintenance of auxiliary equipment, including conveyors, water temperature controls, and mold hot runner controls and make minor repairs to machines and equipment and notify proper personnel of necessary major repairs. 

• Responsible for adherence to Quality Specifications for all products, and follow and promote all safety and environmental procedures. 

• Fill out all documents on molding runs to control traceability and ensure reproducibility. 

• Relieve other molding technicians on breaks and in the event of absenteeism, train and assist mold utility. 

• Promote and maintain an atmosphere of cooperation among and between shifts, tool room, quality control, and management to facilitate production goals. 

• Set and Pull Molds.  

• Work with Q.C. Reps for 1st piece approval's.  

• Perform PM's on equipment each shift. 

• Address quality defects detected at in process inspections by troubleshooting the molding process and equipment.  

• Work with the in process inspector to ensure product being produced meets quality criteria. 

• Maintain the molding department and their assigned equipment with GMP regarding quality, cleanliness, part containment, and documentation.  

• Work with the Lead Tech and mold repair to keep cavity utilization in the green. 

• Assist the Lead Molding Technician with projects, EWO's, Eng. Studies, Validations, and Change Controls. 

• Assist mold utilities as needed to keep equipment running. 

• Other duties as required to support the needs of the business 

Education: 

• High School diploma/GED required 

Experience:  

• Previous molding experience preferred 

• Scientific molding technique knowledge preferred 

• General mechanical aptitude required
