An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy Production team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH). As the Chief Technician - Pharmacy Production - Product Approver, you will be joining a team of hardworking and dedicated pharmacy professionals who compound cancer treatments for NUH patients.
You will be responsible for the final check and release of medicines manufactured, prepared or assembled in pharmacy production. You will also contribute to the leadership of the team of pharmacy technicians, science technicians and assistants to ensure patients receive their treatment in a timely and efficient way, ensure all required quality standards are met and drive continuous improvement throughout the team and department.
To be eligible for this post you must be a registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
The Pharmacy Production department has of four manufacturing areas. The Sterile Production Unit (SPU), Non-Sterile Manufacturing Unit (NSM) and Pharmacy Packing Unit (PPU) are based at the MHRA licensed facility at the Queens Medical Centre (QMC) campus. The Cytotoxic Chemotherapy Production Unit (Cytolab) is located at the City Hospital Campus. The post holder will be required to work at both the Cytotoxic Chemotherapy Production Unit (Cytolab) and Sterile Production Unit depending on the service demands.
To assist in the provision, management and development of safe and efficient pharmacy production services at NUH.
You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and the desire to provide a high quality, safe, effective and efficient service to our patients. You will demonstrate initiative, problem-solving and decision making skills.
