Gi Pro is thrilled to announce our partnership with a leading melting and casting company as we seek a dedicated Production Supervisor to oversee manufacturing operations. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team driving innovation and excellence.
THE ROLE:
As a Production Supervisor you will be required to:
- Ensure that all employees are adequately trained and working safely, with a focus on housekeeping, safe working instructions and continual improvement
- Guarantee that safety and environmental requirements are met by fostering a safety first approach to commencing work
- Increase the operational efficiency of individuals and the team
- Allocation of work to individuals in accordance with the production schedule ensuring on time completion
- Assist with production improvements and budgetary changes as needed
- Solve production problems and continuously improve all areas of production
- Manage and arrange the environmental waste disposal
- Responsible for ensuring the plant and equipment is maintained safely and fit for purpose, reporting and resolving any defects
- Maintaining the accurate use of the Time & Attendance systems
- Confirm that employees work within Health, Safety & Environmental procedures
- Ensures that inductions, risk assessments and method statements are in place where necessary
- You will be responsible for the day to day activities of Melting and casting, whilst continuing a hands on approach, concentrating on safety, quality and the environment and production.
- Understands and acts on the training needs of self and others within the team
THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal Production Supervisor will have:
- A strong background within a Foundry or similar environment.
- Knowledge of all Foundry processes
- A pro active problem solving approach and the ability to formulate and pitch ideas for change
- Experience working within a supervisory position
- Outstanding communication skills to liaise at all levels
- Knowledge of ISO standards and procedural requirements
- Previous environmental awareness and waste control training
COMMUTABLE FROM
- Derby, Ilkeston, Nottingham and Loughborough
