We're searching for a Site Production Manager , a highly visible and inclusive leader, reporting to the Site General Manager. You will inspire positive change and drive efficiency within a modern, purpose-built FMCG manufacturing site, highly profitable and automated. You will help drive a cultural change programme, so its not a BAU role.

Your responsibilities – Site Production Manager

• Provide leadership to diverse production, process and packaging units, leading and driving change through your shift managers and FLM’s, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to quality standards
• Accountable for developing, executing and owning the long-term efficiency improvement plan for the factory
• DRIVING Autonomous Maintenance progress in line with the Autonomous Maintenance plan with engineering
• Direct line management of the production team members, up to 280, including performance management, absence management and reporting
• Work closely with the Site Engineering Manager to ensure asset reliability is delivered, through adherence to planned maintenance
• Own production plans for short- and long-term planning
• Use operational metrics to identify and analyse route cause , implementing corrective actions, to win, everyday
• Develop & own productivity roadmap, delivering cost savings to agreed target levels through operational excellence programme
• Management, alongside the Shift Leaders of the daily processes and labour to consistently deliver the production plan
• Develop and drive strategies for process optimisation, cost reduction, and meeting production targets
• Analyse production metrics for continuous improvement and lead initiatives to enhance performance
• Ensuring the effective running of the Production function on a day-to-day basis to to deliver the site’s Production Plan in line with Group initiatives to achieve service excellence
• Responsible for driving productivity through effective monitoring of process performance to ensure the production plan can be delivered

Role Requirements – Site Production Manager

• Demonstrable experience in managing large manufacturing operations, with a focus on driving performance and efficiency
• A natural leader with a history of inspiring teams and a commitment to safety and quality, undergoing cultural transformation
• Effective communicator with strong problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge of production logistics, supply management, and contract negotiation
• Strong operational & manufacturing leadership experience in the Complex Manufacturing/Food and Drink Manufacturing/FMCG related industry, with experience in TPM, 5s, LEAN, 6 sigma tools
• Excellent communication (verbal & written), coaching, and leadership skills in a team-based environment
• Demonstrated abilities in Analytics, problem solving and team building
• Ideally FMCG or food and drink preferred open to time sensitive complex manufacturing
• Strong Production background, related degree desirable
• Must have experience of managing teams in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of lean process and experience in lean manufacturing environments
• Strong / proven leadership skill and experience
• Can lead and inspire teams
• Has specific knowledge and experience of Operational Management

Telehandler Operator needed in Milton Keynes

Daniel Owen Recruitment are looking for a Telehandler Operator to work on a large commercial site just outside of the centre of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.

The site itself has free parking and is fairly easily accessible via public transport. There are also convenience stores nearby.

Previous experience operating a Telehandler is a must and appropriate tickets are needed (CPCS or NPORS).

Duties for the successful Telehandler Operator:

- Operate a telehandler to move, locate, and reposition materials

- Adhere to safety protocols and standards while operating the equipment

- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure efficient work flow

- Assist in loading and unloading materials from trucks or other vehicles

- Follow instructions from supervisors to complete tasks efficiently

Requirements for the role

The successful Telehandler Operator will need either an NPORS or CPCS (red or blue) licence, full PPE (Hard hat, Hi-Vis and steel-toe cap boots) and proof with a reference having done a similar role previously.

Technical Logistics Operative

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Narborough, South Leicester area

Contract: Full time, ongoing assignment 37.5hrs p/w

Salary: Upto £23k dependant on experience

Other: Driving licence & Vehicle required, Background checks will be completed.

25 days Annual Leave + Public holidays

The Technical Logistics Operative will be required to undertake a range of material handling and analytical activities and processes.

• Goods receipt, Material Put away, Pick, Pack , Ship, Count etc.
• Physical movement of materials around the site.
• Demonstrate a contribution to continuous improvement activity within Logistics.
• Ensure adequate and timely stock replenishment.
• Communicate with colleagues outside of own team in order to gain clarification and/or guidance for completion of defined tasks.

The successful candidate would be joining a team that is fully involved in the deployment of critical datacenter infrastructure and committed to making improvements and achieving targets.

Key Responsibility Areas and What You'll Do:

Receiving:

• Relationship/interface with suppliers, carriers and engineering teams.
• Relationship/interface and communication with internal customers.
• Accurate processing of incoming deliveries.
• Timely processing of incoming deliveries.
• Management of goods receiving and unpacking areas.

Stores:

• Ensure that all inventory is located and picked as laid down by the businesses processes.
• Ensure that all materials are adequately stored and that they are not subject to any damage.
• Ensure good housekeeping is maintained.
• Ensure periodic stock takes are performed and that stock accuracy (physical and logical) is maintained.
• Ensure all electronic stock systems are kept up to date and functioning as expected.
• Ensure returned goods are managed appropriately.

Deliveries:

• Timely fulfilment of stock requests, in line with business expectations.
• Accurate recording of all outbound delivery activity.
• Communicating progress and issues to peers and stakeholders as appropriate.

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required:

• Experience of Goods-Inwards Receiving, Dispatch, Stores or Warehouse environments.
• Good computer literacy (Microsoft Excel in particular).
• Excellent numeracy and organization skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent time management.
• Good data accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience of working on electronic stock control systems.
• Previous Logistics experience in a technical environment (advantageous).
• A good understanding of I.T. hardware and components (advantageous).
• Full driving license.
