We are seeking a manager to oversee the production operations of motor controllers, including printed circuit board assembly, and ensure alignment with company objectives and global headquarters. This role requires leadership in managing teams, optimizing manufacturing processes, maintaining equipment reliability, and implementing production plans to meet business goals. The position also involves close collaboration with headquarters and factories in Japan to strategize long-term production growth, equipment investment, and training initiatives.
• Oversee the Manufacturing Department, with full accountability for the motor controller’s printed circuit board assembly operations. Ensure alignment with the company’s key performance goals and those set by headquarters in Japan.
• Direct the Manufacturing Engineering Department, focusing on effective machine upkeep and ensuring reliability for continuous production. Lead machine setup and process configurations for new products, continually optimizing and improving manufacturing processes.
• Apply TPM methodologies to minimize downtime, increase equipment reliability, and enhance overall production efficiency.
• Supervise the implementation of production plans, proactively addressing and resolving any issues that arise.
• Work closely with headquarters in Japan to strategize and establish production plans for the overall production direction of the company.
• Serve as the primary liaison, ensuring strong alignment with HQ and related factories on all operational matters.
• Collaborate with factories in Japan to develop a comprehensive long-term machine investment plan that supports production growth in alignment with the five-year sales growth targets.
• Develop a long-term training program to impart Oriental Motor’s manufacturing concepts and foster knowledge-sharing between local engineers and engineers in Japan.
• Act as the main point of contact with headquarters and affiliated factories in Japan. Lead meetings to ensure the seamless implementation of projects and initiatives.
• Present detailed monthly production reports in Japanese to headquarters and factories in Japan, ensuring transparency and alignment with company goals.
Requirement
• Minimum JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) N1 level or equivalent is required for effective reporting, coordination, and precise communication with stakeholders in Japan.
• Diploma or higher in Engineering or a related field, with over 10 years of experience in PCBA manufacturing processes.
• Experience in implementing Total Productive Maintenance practices.
• In-depth knowledge of machinery used in PCBA manufacturing, along with a strong network with machine manufacturers.
• Familiarity with ISO 9000 quality management system requirements and IPC-A-610 standards for the Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies.
• Extensive knowledge of small precision motors and motor controllers.
• Strong leadership abilities and negotiation skills.
