Essential Functions

• Manages and directs activities of assigned shift, ensuring product adheres to Niagara’s standard of safety, quality, and throughput.

• Completes shift reports for production numbers, downtime, attendance, overtime and quality checks for submission to the Production Manager.
• Conducts walkthroughs throughout the shift to ensure safety, quality, and housekeeping compliance by team members.
• Interfaces with multiple departments within the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
• Participates in interviews with hiring managers.
• Collaborates with plant leadership and shift team members to champion a world-class safety culture.
• Conducts weekly safety talk trainings, daily safety/quality/production meetings, and hourly safety walks.

• Support the Supervisor & Group Leader with various production needs such as line shortages and quality gate checks
• Support Engineers through work station design and tool-board set ups.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) activities and support completion of CI board items.
• Participate in engagement activities, such as: Feed Forward activities, and Safety Teams.

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Measurement Specialist located at Carlsbad, NM through December 18th, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. (Central Standard Time).

The Measurement Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of task that include installation, calibration, and repair of liquid, gas, and water analytical and measurement equipment. This position will provide technical support to Operations teams on all measurement related activities.

Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

·         Install, commission, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and maintain all gas and liquid measurement equipment including but not limited to: Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM), samplers, controllers, antennas, solar panels, SCADA, liquid and gas flow meters, orifice plates, meter tubes, temperature probes, surface safety devices, and radio communications.

·         Accurately prepare detailed calibration reports and documentation

·         Perform liquid S&W and composite gas sampling

·         Witness 3rd party custody transfer meter proving and calibrations

·         Provide labor and material requirements, and cost estimates for procurement
Participate in measurement roundtables sharing measurement best practices

·         Identify and report measurement concerns with Operations teams

·         Maintain knowledge of technology advancements and changes in the industry related to liquid and gas measurement equipment, design, standards, specifications, and product quality

·         Analyze measurement data for errors and reconcile incomplete, invalid, or incorrect data for settlement purposes
Assure all work performed adheres to Chevron’s Operational Excellence standards and regulatory requirements.

·         Actively support Health, Environment, and Safety processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner, following safe operating practices, maintaining a safe working environment, and being prepared to respond to an environmental or safety event.

·         Schedule 9/80 (no rotational)
 

Required Qualifications:

·         High school diploma or equivalent.

·         Minimum of 1-year current experience in an oil and gas related industry working with high pressure gas and/or liquid operational measurement equipment.

·         Must live within 50 miles of the work location or be willing to relocate and possess a valid driver's license.

·         Ability and willingness to work overtime including nights and weekends based on workload and call outs.

·         Ability to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination, as well as pre-placement verification of the information and qualifications provided during the selection process.

·         This is a Safety Sensitive position.

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Associate degree in Math, Computer Science, Instrumentation or equivalent technology discipline.

·         2-5 years current experience in an oil and gas related industry working directly with high pressure gas and liquid operational measurement equipment.

·         Strong recordkeeping skills.

·         Strong written and verbal communications.

·         Strong working knowledge of Chevron Engineering Standards (CES), American Petroleum Institute (API), American Gas Association (AGA), Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX), and Texas Railroad Commission, Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

·         Computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), CMMS, aptitude for learning new software packages.

·         Capable of simultaneously performing multiple tasks with limited supervision.

·         Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, and internal and external customers.

Relocation Options:
Relocation will be considered within Chevron parameters.

International Considerations:
Expatriate assignments will not be considered.

• Drive maturity of the overall plant knowledge of technology, adoption of new technologies, and ensure factories in the regions have the best access to the latest technological thinking and possible solutions.
• Strong knowledge in optimizing factory design and material flow based on lean principles.
• Support simulation of future state process models for increased throughput, and capacity utilization
• Use statistical analysis to validate results.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• B.S. Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
• 5+ years related experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to participate or lead a cross-functional team.
• Project management experience, including the ability to manage a project by delivering scope, cost and schedule.
• Capable of working in a collaborative and team focused environment; open to new ideas
• Demonstrated understanding of fabrication processes – cutting, bending, machining, welding, coating, assembly
• Able to evaluate processes based on lean principles.
• Must be proficient with CAD software (AutoCAD)
