About the role:
Join us as a Shift Production Manager and you’ll use your engineering experience and people management expertise to lead, manage and motivate a number of Production and Movement teams at both our TrainCare Centres and Outstations.
Day to day you will be working closely with other Production and Planning Managers at our TrainCare Centres to create and deliver a robust, efficient, and detailed production plan for the fleet allocated to your depot. You’ll make sure it’s closely aligned to other regional plans and workloads, while also ensuring we meet our safety and environmental, performance, people, profit, and customer targets.

Key responsibilities:
This is a varied and challenging role, but here is a taste of what your day-to-day activities could include:
Leading the TrainCare Centre teams on a shift basis to maintain standards and frequencies of scheduled servicing, maintenance and cleaning of Traction and Rolling stock allocated to the TrainCare Centre to repair all defects.
Ensuring technical and safety standards are adhered to on all traction and rolling stock at the TrainCare Centre and that all colleagues are aware of the standards.
Ensuring that all statutory requirements are met with respect to health, safety, and environmental obligations.
Liaising with third party customers to ensure the depot delivers any contractual obligations and you’ll manage any day to day relationships with the TrainCare Centres customers. Working to actively encourage staff to suggest production improvements.
You’ll be working with a fun, enthusiastic team of professionals, who will support you in developing your career and skills.
About you:
You will need to have experience in a similar leadership role, preferably in an engineering and production management role (but not vital), You’ll also need to have excellent communication, teamwork and leadership skills with some experience of people management because this is such a varied and important role.
We’re also looking for the following:
Engineering qualifications to HNC/HND standard or equivalent.
Safety qualification or working towards
Experience of safety, quality and technical product audits and audit techniques.
