SHE Manager, Food Manufacturing
Opportunity for an SHE Manager based in Essex to join the business as they grow their operation.

As Safety, Health and Environment Manager for a busy food manufacturing site you’ll report into the Technical Director.

This is a great opportunity for a SHE professional to join a food manufacturing business that is experiencing exponential growth. They plan to grow their operation significantly over the next few years and invest in custom built facilities.

Day-to-day you’ll co-ordinate all Safety, Health and Environment related activities across the site, embed a behaviour-based safety approach that leads to Continuous Improvement and ensure that all SHE related activates on site comply with all legislative requirements.

You’ll act as the initial point of contact across the business on all safety matters, undertake weekly and monthly reporting on a range of Health and Safety KPIs. You’ll collate incident documentation, SHE databases / spreadsheets and produce relevant management information for the site operations team and the General Manager. You’ll coach, monitor, audit, and review activities to ensure that working practices are safe, comply with legislation and have a safe system of work along with ensuring that all potential risks associated with all activities are identified, assessed with appropriate control.

This role will suit a Safety, Health and Environment professional who is either based in Essex or able to relocate and has worked within the food industry.

To be considered for this role you will need:

Proven SHE experience gained from either a single or multi-site role in the food manufacturing sector
Working knowledge ISO SHE related management systems
Experience of managing safety or advising on safety matters
Competent user of MS Office at intermediate level (Word, Excel, Outlook)
SHE-related qualification

Manpower is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site & Production Manager to join our client's new depot based in Essex where you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of fresh and used cooking oil stock, it's storage and its onward movement to our biofuel processing sites.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all day-to-day management and operations at the site, ensuring the smooth running of all warehouses, production & logistical activities aswell as leading a team of both warehouse and driving staff to deliver excellent customer service to all clients.

You will also act as contract manager for the Palmer & Klein processing activities on behalf of Lifecycle Oils and be the point of contact between the transport, compliance, and production teams at LCO and P&K.

What you'll need to do:

• Monitor the production processes of P&K ensuring adherence to Lifecycle Oils processes and environmental standards. Escalate any issues as required
• Support Purchasing and Compliance Depts to ensure that we maintain accuracy of the mass balance, payments, and traceability of product.
• Manage and oversee all aspects of the micro site, including inbound and outbound goods, inventory management, staff management and sales generation.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations, as well as with all company policies and procedures.
• Optimise site operations and maximise efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
• Supervise and mentor staff (Administration, Warehouse and Drivers), including training, performance management, and motivation.
• Manage and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the site, equipment, and vehicles.
• Prepare and submit reports to senior management on site operations, performance, and KPIs.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate site performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate corrective action.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in logistics or supply chain management, with specific experience of being site lead managing a team of Drivers
• Experience of working within a production processing environment (Required)
• Experience of managing compliance processes either in waste management or food manufacturing (Required)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
• Counterbalance / Reach FLT Licence
• Experience in managing operations (specifically Logistics) in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality customer service and meeting KPIs.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
