The role
As a Senior Production Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary, with the opportunity to work on highly complex and interesting projects, you will gain a wide exposure to Submarine business, liaising with various teams across multiple projects.
Day to day, you'll be working within the Submarine Maintenance Planning Team, responsible for the planning of submarine maintenance periods conducted in Devonport.
This will cover the development of the projects scope, interrogation of the early scope for risks, issues, materials, equipment, developing execution schedules to be handed over to the Submarine Delivery Team. You will be using your experience of Submarine maintenance or build projects to assist in the development of project management output, e.g. project plans, metrics, task procedures.
- Supporting the development of the project schedule through close cooperation with the project team
- Technical assessment for reactor primary and secondary maintenance tasks included in the projects scope
- Identification of key risks, issues, materials, and equipment required for mechanical based tasks
- Utilising experience from previous projects and Submarine enterprise to improve project planning and delivery
- Undertaking visits to Submarine platforms to assess reactor based tasks
This role is full time, 36 hours based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard with hybrid working from home arrangements.
Essential experience of the Senior Production Engineer:
- Experience in Submarine maintenance, build or repair
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with key stakeholders
- Relevant experience, knowledge and training of PWR1 and/or PWR2 Operations, maintenance, repair
- Experience in the planning of engineering projects - Desirable
- Experience as a PWR1 or PWR2 operator would be beneficial - Desirable
Qualifications for the Senior Production Engineer:
