Job Description

Teledyne Controls specializes in providing cutting-edge onboard avionics systems and ground-based applications to facilitate efficient data access, management, and utilization for both civil and military aircraft operators.

We're hiring a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to improve processes and ensure product quality, with expertise in Hi-Speed circuitry PCB design. Responsibilities include tests, mentoring, and continuous improvement. The role involves coordinating with various stakeholders to meet organizational requirements on time and within quality standards. This position also contributes to business planning and strategic decisions related to manufacturing, quality, and customer relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct tests, experiments, and analyses to support new product development and improvements.
• Provide testability input to Engineering on new product development and designs.
• Support test of analog/digital circuits and embedded devices.
• Develop new processes, test methodologies and/or test department for improved quality, lower cycle times, and lower costs.
• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
• Gathers and analyses information skillfully; works well in problem solving situations.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers in technical aspects.
• Apply continuous improvement methods to enhance existing processes.
• Review production schedules, engineering specifications, and process flows.
• Support production, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings and quality standards.
• Analyze and optimize workforce utilization, space, and workflow.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance manufacturing quality and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with management and engineering to facilitate production processes.
• Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
• Specify and design tooling fixtures, special machinery, and equipment.
• Interface with design engineering on product designs.
• Conduct operator training and perform equipment maintenance.
• Lead the execution of assigned projects.
• Review high-quality drawings, bills of material, and manufacturing documentation.
• Support prototype and development builds.
• Introduction of capital equipment against industry standards.
• Raise and action change notes to maintain accurate product records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote them to production staff.
• Resolve production issues proactively and prevent re-occurrence.
• Provide training to the Operations team on new processes and products.
• Assist Sales, Engineering, and Purchasing departments with technical information.
• Troubleshoot build and test issues, collaborating with operators and test technicians.
• Integrate with the QA department to maintain high product yield.
• Assist the Operations manager in achieving targeted figures for OTD, PONC, and shipment targets.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university, in Electrical Engineering from an accredited school.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
• Proficiency in electronic troubleshooting and reading schematics.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, detail and assembly drawings, measuring instruments, and PCB design approaches for Hi-Speed circuitry.
• Strong problem-solving skills and data analysis proficiency.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work on several projects at once.
• Familiarity with ATE and benchtop electronic test equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Avionics development experience with ARINC664, ARINC818, and ARINC429.
• Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 and digital transformation concepts.
• Familiarity with VHDL (FPGA development) and analog circuit design.
• Understanding of configuration management principles.
• Familiarity with DO-160 test requirements and DO-254 process guidance.
