General Purpose:

Performs a variety of duties in the set-up and operation of equipment as defined in the work instructions for each process.

Principle Accountabilities:

• Reviews production schedules, process procedures and specifications regarding the sequential start-up, operation and control of automated equipment and peripheral hardware.
• Performs automated equipment set-up functions which include the loading of electronic components, raw cards, feeders, fixtures, stencils, chemicals, etc. 
• Performs sequential start-up for the automated equipment and all peripheral hardware.
• Monitors the operation of the automated equipment and peripheral hardware. Initiates adjustments to ensure that the automated equipment and peripheral hardware operate within the established control limits.
• Monitors the shelf-life usage of perishable chemicals, moisture sensitive parts and raw card assemblies.
• Inspects quality levels of production on the automated equipment and peripheral hardware. Makes adjustments to equipment or hardware when workmanship drops below quality specifications. Initiate rework/repair activities on product that is substandard to the specifications.
• Records data required for statistical process control or inventory management.
• Performs preventive maintenance on the automated equipment and peripheral hardware at specified intervals and schedules.
• Performs sequential shutdown, including the cleaning of the automated equipment or peripheral hardware.

Education / Experience:

Completion of a high school degree or equivalent is preferred. Successful completion of company provided training may be required. Typically requires 1-2 years of machine operator experience.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Able to read and comprehend moderately complex instructions. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, leads and supervisors of the organization.

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement and distance. Ability to use measurement tools such as; tape measures, calipers, and protractors. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and blueprints.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Reporting to the Production Manager the Production Supervisor - Switchgear will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing on their assigned product line, to include providing direct supervision and overseeing workflow, scheduling staff to meet organizational needs, ensuring quality control and process improvement, and creating a safe workplace.

What a typical day looks like:

• Supporting the Production management team in project planning and execution
• Ensuring Anord Mardix products are manufactured efficiently, effectively and to required deadlines
• Reporting any additional production requests and costs to the Production Manager
• Completes daily production meetings, review safety, quality and production issues with their teams
• Provides supervision and leadership to ensure production goals are met
• Confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production problems.
• Identify safety, quality and production related issues, assists with root cause analysis and employ validate agreed corrective actions.
• Identifies and develops subordinate leadership within the department.
• Prepares and maintains production reports.

• Supervisor, management, and training of employees of the WE/IBT department.

You will be part of the Site Leadership team and lead the site by setting and delivering ambitious targets on supply, quality, safety and cost in order to achieve the vision of being a fast flexible and focused site. How You Will Achieve It

• Set objectives for and manage multiple projects and ongoing work activities within a division or subdivision.

• Develop and implement strategic direction for product or process improvements.

• Manage financial controls and practices as appropriate for site management.

• Ensure operations are in compliance with corporate standards as well as federal and local regulations.

• Participate in facility planning to ensure that both short-term and long-term product/process business objectives are met.

• Ensure the operational performance objectives and supporting functions are well-defined, executed and delivered on time, and the SOD Strategic Priorities are aligned and support the overall Pfizer Global Supply vision.

• Ensure that {Current} Good Manufacturing Practices {part of GxP} and safety training for all site staff within department is conducted in a timely and efficient manner in order to meet regulatory compliance requirements.

• Work with Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, Technical Services, Environment, Health & Safety and others to evaluate production needs, resolve issues, provide resources and reset direction in order to maximize effective.

• Oversee investigations and Operational Excellence initiatives, ensuring the use of tools to improve quality, cost, safety and cycle time.

• Engage with HR to ensure effective talent management culture and identify development opportunities for colleagues and prepare them for future promotional growth.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• Bachelor's Degree

• 10+ years ‘experience

• Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and achieve significant, complex goals and objectives

• Demonstrated experience in pharmaceutical/medical device/consumer environment with a track record of increased responsibilities including experience in operations

• Training in compliance (cGMP) in Pharmaceutical industry, quality, relevant Standard Operating Procedure's/Policies, Operational Excellence tools and processes used at site

• Excellent planning and project management skills, including ability to handle multiple projects, simultaneously and manage against a work plan

• Customer focused, cost effective decision in a competitive environment

• Strong people management experience

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including presentation skills

• Fluent in German

About you and this role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Engineer (m/f/d) to support the Production team at our site in Stade, Germany.

As a Production Engineer, you will ensure the safe and reliable operation for our on-site manufacturing plants. You will also act as a key resource by applying technical skills to optimize plant operations, to resolve problems and to enable low-cost operations. Dow Production Engineers generate tremendous value to Dow through their knowledge, skills, and abilities.

In this role, you will collaborate with operators, engineers, and leaders and be part of an international environment, where you can explore, exchange ideas, and implement them.

Responsibilities

• You will work closely with the operations team leveraging their problem-solving skills and technical expertise
• You will ensure Most Effective Technology (MET) is understood and utilized and that process automation is used as a tool to optimize plant performance.
• You will partner with experts to perform advanced troubleshooting and improve and document operating discipline
• You will diagnose and document root causes of asset utilization losses in the facility
• You will respond urgently to plant issues and emergencies
• You will participate in the implementation of an effective Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) program

Qualifications

• University degree in process engineering or similar
• Fresh graduates or maximum of 2 years working experience in production, process control/engineering, or maintenance
• Experience in interacting with interdisciplinary teams and with external customers
• Knowledge and experience in quality management and its implementation
• Solid MS-Office user knowledge
• Experience in prioritizing tasks with excellent time management and a safety-first mentality
• A team player who is willing to integrate and collaborate
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Working proficiency in both German and English languages
