Production Planning Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Planning Lead to join our operations team. The Production Planning Lead will be responsible for overseeing the planning and coordination of production schedules, materials supply schedules, and maintenance schedules to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of products to customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations planning, inventory management, and production scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and review customer orders to initiate production planning process
- Construct rolling weekly production schedule using customer order data, product stock information, and customer forecasts
- Develop rolling weekly materials supply schedule using customer order data, raw material and WIP stock information, and customer forecasts
- Collaborate with Warehouse Manager to align production schedule with stock availability
- Integrate and optimise planned maintenance schedule with production schedule in collaboration with Maintenance Lead
- Maintain a rolling 52-week production forecast based on customer forecast and order data
- Identify opportunities for optimisation of production schedules and capacity planning
- Maintain real-time overview of production through Short Interval Control and Management Control and Reporting System
- Lead stock take activities and ensure accurate maintenance of materials, WIP, and finished goods stocks
- Complete daily reporting requirements and performance analysis, reporting to Sales & Operations Manager and Management Team
- Develop daily materials supply schedule to meet production needs and achieve customer service targets
- Identify and communicate risks to service and supply, analyse solutions, and implement best fit solutions
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in operations planning, production scheduling, and inventory management in a manufacturing environment ideally within a food production environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Proficiency in using planning tools and software
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Experience with Short Interval Control and Maintenance Management Systems is a plus
