7-22 Systems Ltd is seeking a Product Design Engineer to join our small and innovative company, based on the Isle of North Uist, Outer Hebrides. Your role will focus on the manufacture of 7-22s ecological pre-fabricated building system, as a key figure working with both the architectural and construction team.
We are seeking a Product Design Engineer as part of the team to help us develop our innovative, ecologically focused construction business. 7-22 Systems produces an architect-designed building system, suited to small to medium sized construction projects, and provides a turn-key Design and Build construction service. The 7-22 System utilises off-site prefabrication of pre-insulated components, offering a new way to build better.
Based in the Outer Hebrides, on the Isle of North Uist, the post is workshop-based, with occasional site work, throughout the Outer Hebrides and beyond.
You will work with the Directors and our small fabrication / construction team to help drive forward the on-going development of the 7-22 System, through research, innovation and practical application.
You will take an active, hands-on role with your colleagues in the workshop on the CNC production and assembly of components, including the generation of g-codes from architectural models. During the construction phase of projects you will also assist colleagues on site in line with your experience.
You will assist the Directors and production team in the process of continuous improvement. This will include researching and procuring materials or equipment, helping to develop production methods and procedures to improve quality and productivity, prototyping new components and liaising with consultant partners (eg engineers).
Gross Salary £31,000 - £35,000 per annum dependent on experience.
This post also offers a rare and exciting lifestyle opportunity: to live in an area of outstanding natural beauty, a place rich in cultural identity, with an active arts community, and countless opportunities for outdoor pursuits.
